Saints might have last open job; are they waiting on Joe Brady?

With the Las Vegas Raiders hiring Pete Carroll on Friday and the Dallas Cowboys rumored to be close to choosing Brian Schottenheimer, the New Orleans Saints look like they’ll be the final NFL team with an opening at head coach.
Our Saints Insiders — Times-Picayune columnists Jeff Duncan and Rod Walker and beat writers Luke Johnson and Matthew Paras — break down whether that’s a bad sign, and who we think the hire ultimately will be.
Speaking of which, the NFL conference championship games are this weekend, and Saints fans will have plenty to watch, starting with Joe Brady and his Buffalo Bills offense, but also LSU’s own Jayden Daniels and former Saints all over the place in the NFC game. Finally, we offer our predictions for who will be coming to New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

  1. “An organization that likes to win and win now”???? Who???? Nothing about this organization, since Drew and Sean left, shows they wanna win. Loomis was about to sell us on a 4th year of dennis allen’s d•mb as$. This organization is lazy and is more concerned about optics than winning 😒

  2. I think if Mickey Loomis gets removed , saints can get a young Hungry General manager .. Loomis is 69 yrs old, and set in his old ways of thinking .. Saints need to make some modern changes in the front office .. “out with the old & in with the new”

  3. I don’t like to speak ill of Mickey, but his actions and attitudes have left me no choice.

Clearly the word has got round all the coaches in the league about how arrogant and intransigent he is.

Gayle and her group really need to promote him to a position where he cannot inflict further damage upon the team and Toms legacy.

  4. Saints are the only nfl team without a HC after the Cowgirls hired schottenheimer sp
The Jags had to fire their GM to get their new HC from the Bucs
Are they waiting on Brady ? who cares…whoever takes the job is destined to fail with this front office who have demonstrated they have had the WORST FA signings, the WORST draft picks, plus the WORST cap management in the league….Loomis thinks he can gaslight the fans, maybe he can, but he can't gaslight prospective Coaches …someone will get the job, Loomis will keep his job and we'll have another decade of fails, period.. End of story

  5. We used to be the doormat of the league. That changed thanks to Payton…not thanks to Loomis..Loomis got lucky signing Sean and Drew. they got lucky with the 2017 draft. He's had over 20 drafts..one out of 20 needless to say aint good. He's signed Drew, Demario, and possibly a couple of good FA's ..A number you can count on ONE hand.. He's mortgaged the future by screwing up contracts letting pro bowl players walk to sign with other teams and NOW we have NO pro bowl caliber players on this team. Why are we the last team with NO coach? do we even have to ask when we're a laughing stock once more? Ms Benson, wake the eff up and make serious front office changes or do nothing and keep us the laughing stock for the next decade.
