Hardcore Duo Series – Ep. 5 – Overrun on Reserve – Escape from Tarkov

Hardcore Tarkov is a self imposed set of rules in which I play through with an objective to get as far into the game as possible! This series will be out daily until the objective is met! We’ve cut out parts of the footage to speed it up (loading screens and some menu time if nothing really happens).

  1. On the subject of PVE at around 49:00, not dealing with cheaters is a big part of the appeal, but you also don't have to deal with things like exit campers, exploiters and 4-5 man teams that are decked out with the best gear. PVE is also something that you can play at your own pace, instead of the rat race that reg tarkov ends up being.

  2. Ey Pestily describing how I feel in Civ and colony war games like Total War. The best part of the game is the start, where you are building your forces/empire, struggling against the enemy, finances, your people's happiness. Once you get to that late game tipping point where you are just smashing through the enemy, the game gets dead boring, you are just brainlessly blasting through opponents to the final win.

  3. 100% why I run PvE alot – also get to figure out the new quests in a controlled environment. If I screw up and not play smarter then I know it was my screwup not something sus. I love PvP EFT but PvE has been hitting the spot due to my scheduling w/ work and now taking classes for certs.

  4. I stopped playing the game because of progression, the "game" elements of this just aren't good, someone decided they wanted to make a hardcore life sim, and then tack on a game after that. Not saying a game needs to let you just speed run to the end, but there is literally like 4 missions on GZ, and then the game just says "OKAY go to all these other places now", there's like zero chance to get comfortable with a map before you gotta go to the next, sure I guess you could do like 20 Trial runs of the map to try and learn something, but even then you are almost forced to just go to a wiki, or guide to figure out how to even get off the bloody map, this is also assuming you haven't completely filled your stash with wires and lightbulbs to the point you can't even sell stuff. The bones is great, the gunplay, and movement feel great, but the "game" part that I play a game for is real shitty, unless you want to spend 1000 hours bashing your head against a wall, to finally start being able to do good.

  5. 51:00 I reckon you could get Kappa on PVP tarkov much faster than on PVE. I enjoy SPT more than the actual game cause they add all types of mods, and you can also change just about any setting that you wanna so you have much more freedom to play the game how you wanna. I'm one of those guys that used cheats in GTA San Andreas and memorized the codes, so I love a great single player game I can cheat in 😅.

  6. that they made the area under the medical tent flooded is absolute trash. People have left PVP because the players in tarkov are trash from all perspectives. The story has the characters cooperating but we cooperate with literally no other pmcs unless you're friends.
