Nothing lasts forever !
Rant best be calm, not into listening to more rants since I live in the US
How lucky was it for your video to be in the background.. you'd almost think it was staged.. 🤔 and did you and Josh compare notes on what you'd both wear… 😉🤣
Great video as always, getting your practice in with the baby 😂❤
I have American Border Leicester, they get fat on a rock bed. Yours look nice!
I decided to get rid of my borders mainly due to poor mothering ability, lack of milk and poor weight gain.
40 or so years ago there was no Cheviot mules or white Welsh mules then were all halfbreds and scotch grey faces from the BF ewe , but the style of borders changed to the big ears and sharp heads and it ruined them as a hardy crossing tup which is there primary use.
I personally think they are a thing of the past in the commercial sheep world in the uk
Loved the rant! You basically acted like a protective dad, dont dis my sheep based on comparison to pet sheep!!!
Nice rant
You explain how you sheep farm that works for you
And those that are not happy they way the BL sheep look they need educating
The Border Leicestershire sheep I’d never seen before until I started watching your channel
The Te Pari is working great
I see you have a good little worker with you he seems happy to be out one the farm good video again nice one 👍
Was nice to meet you at lamma when I came to see jm on the cf moto stand.
I have a small hair sheep flock that is for grazing (fire reduction management in California). Mine are getting hay supplement because we don't have grass year round like you do. So mine get 3 way hay (grain hay) in the evening to keep their condition up. They graze during the day. These guys are more like goats as they browse as well as graze. They eat all sorts of weeds that other sheep and goats won't touch. They run with my 2 donkeys so they are taking down different types of plants to manage my pastures. I also run the horses in the pastures which are irrigated in the summer at night so they can do some grazing while it's cool. I agree with treating sheep as sheep. Overweight animals have problems whether it's a sheep or dogs/cats/horses/donkeys etc. Fat is bad for all animals.
Love the rant Will 🙌👏🤣
I show my boxers and keep them lean but on fb pages it folks boasting about how big their boxers are and seeing the pics you known they’re fat/obese!! I’m a dog groomer and clients “we love our dog” that’s twice the weight it should be then laugh it off when you say you’re killing it with kindness. Words fail me tbh!!!! Keep up the fab work not long til lambing!!!!!!
Not all of us are a lucky boy like you with new lay and good grass to graze yor system works for you cos of your situation
We have a CF Moto quad, great piece of kit 👍👍
Don’t bite 😂 it’s what they want!
Will I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos. You demonstrate good shepherd management and I learn alot from these videos. I am looking forward to lambing season as I'm sure you are as well. Cheers from USA.
Excellent video again thanks for sharing a real time saver
There is always something to fix on a farm. ❤
You need to be a “Jack-of-all-trades”. It seems to be even wetter there this year.
You are getting younger and younger help 😊❤️Tommy is very cute.
Your aloud to have a rant, an aloud to enjoy your new equipment. I’m sure you’ve seen the weather forecast there’s storm on the way with a lot of rain, I know how you struggle with flooding. I love your dogs.
The Te Pari is a game changer. 😊
Check out Can Am Traxter.
Reply to rant ; you said body condition 3 – they LOOK more like 2 ,they all had dirty tails ,and they only scanned 1.33 .I had them great sheep for size, length, milk, and litter size(1.8-2.0) and no over feeding running as a commercial flock. Lleyns look well(credit to you)because your moving them every other day to fresh grass ,are the border Leicesters getting same treatment? Why are they not running with the Lleyns (special treatment) they would be different sheep and be getting more out of them. They are part of our replacement program because they have proved themselves .( You knew this was coming – you said it ! )
I have a couple hundred hill type North Country Cheviot commercial ewes here in New York State USA. I bred a lot of them to Border Leicester tups to produce Halfbred replacement ewes. Border Leicesters here have big ears but they aren't erect like yours.
Will, you will be a fantastic dad one day!!
BL are the preferred cross over merinos here to produce first cross ewes for prime lamb production, Iam surprised they have declined in the uk?
You can’t really compare UK to say Canada as we have less grazing time in our country than you. Plus we have more predation you don’t have to worry about. The BL here in Canada our hobby farmers and in USA more show style. Just no comparison at all. I have a BL ewe who is in lamb to a Southdown ram, but she’s in the barn with my Southdown ewes. I wish Canada had the weather and type of systems the UK has, but we do not! Although I admire you changing the breed for better in your country. 😊
With their pastel pink and blue bums, the Border Leicesters look like Easter Bunnies. 🐰
Working condition is as I’d describe your Leicesters, not pampered but good condition for a working sheep.
A fat or thin sheep struggle to breed properly, I would say the Leicesters look just right, well as good as a Leicester can look. Not a fan of them tbh
Ignore that 😂 we are all the same haha great videos lad
That part isn’t fixable you have to replace it.
What a cutie❤️❤️
What a cutie❤️❤️
Great video watching from Alberta Canada
