  1. Thank you! I found this very easy to follow, other guides actually put me off the game with how complicated it all seemed. This was very helpful, definitely going to try it! Subbed!

  2. Thanks for watching the video everyone, you've given great feedback so far <3!

For illustrative purposes, I used the hoe to plan out the slime farm in the video. After a bit of research, it looks like hoed ground can negatively impact mob spawns. If you're getting low mob spawn rates with any mob farm you have, make sure none of the ground underneath is hoed. The game doesn't make this clear so I hope it helps you out!

The following is a bit convoluted, and didn't belong in this video, but I might make a clearer video on it in the future. But will hopefully help you get better mob spawning rates:

It also seems like mobs have a chance to spawn once every 15 minutes per chunk. A chunk, or spawn cell, is a 16×16 area of tiles. And for slimes, it seems like you only need to place down 7 ground tile slimes in a chunk to get the maximum spawn chance.

So, this means to optimise the amount of mobs spawning, it makes sense to have multiple types of mob spawning tiles in one 16×16 chunk e.g. place 7 orange ground slime, then 7 blue ground slime next to that… Or have a bunch of these farms in separate chunks, and connect them together with conveyor belts.

I hope this is helpful for getting more spawns 🙂 !

  3. So, I tried the slime farm because my previous one was a disaster; the slimes would clip through my double walls and pits, or any barrier. The drills are not something I thought of but they seem to aggro the slime floor and not allow the slimes to spawn?

  4. Have you figured out how to automate food going into the troughs? I am currently thinking the mushroom spawner with some spikes to break lose the mushrooms could complete the process.

  5. You have problematic conveyor belts touching the robotic arms.
The belts need to push it into an OPEN square right in front of the arm.
As it is now, if the line gets backed up, and two items are coming down at once, the arm grabs one item while the other will be pushed off the belt, onto the SAME square as the arm.
It grabs from the tile in front of it, so if that tile is EMPTY items will sit there and wait to be grabbed. Hope this helps.

  6. Sad thing that ore veins are not infinite. They have aroud 2000 pieces of ore or less. I think placing portals are cheaper and faster than conveyor belts and easier to migrate from one vein to another

  7. I wish you can also automate farming in this game… I've played with the mod which automates farming which helps a lot in the late game while decorating and landscaping my base (which takes hours), but unfortunately the mod is broken with the 1.0 release… 🙁

  8. Seems like there is an issue with the cattle farm, they seem to glitch through the walls to the outside or even just elsewhere within the little pen itself. I've tried switching the thin glass with full blocks and they still do it. Bit of a shame.

  9. Never knew you do a cattle farm like this. Question: Is it possible to automate gardening? Like getting robot arms to plant and harvest your crops?
Edit: I'm still early in the game and just found scarlet ores that let me to the idea of having a fully automated base.
