I got so many night shift stories it’s insane. One of the worst ones is… I worked for a chemical processing plant, the packaged shit like rat poison, pesticides, all this shit in sealed rooms called ‘suites’. You’re not supposed to take off you oxygen mask in those things. One day they didn’t give the illegal immigrants the PPE set ups they should have had, closed and sealed the doors of the processing room, and fucking turned it into basically a gas chamber full of an arsenic dust cloud. Everybody had to go to the hospital and a couple of em died from it.

I was a night shift worker at a gas station a few months ago and a guy slit my throat at work, stay safe when working alone.
Probably a couple of cops who spent 4 hours looking for a man’s remains inside some bushes by the 55 freeway here in Cali.
A guy that lost control of his race car while in the carpool crashed into the part of the freeway where the exit ramp starts for Katella st. His car was wrecked and the guy was split in half and everything below his torso was spread out in the freeway and the bushes.
His motor and gas tank landed about 500 feet away behind the store I was working at. The accident happened waaaay in the back so the dude was going fast
The cops closed the freeway and arrested and forced people who recorded with their phones to delete the footage.
There were 6 cars that got flat tires and had to park at the store to call AAA.
They were all traumatized by what they saw back there.
I still remember looking back there from 12-4am and seeing them all there still searching.
Two days later, the dudes grandpa showed up to look for the license plate of the car since nobody thought of taking it. He just wanted reassurance since he couldn’t believe it
I am a nurse for my state…dialysis and therapeutic apheresis. I got called in during my week of coverage for an emergent patient. I knew the patient she had sepsis and an infection of her digestive tract. I saw her swatting at something that wasn't there. I was setting up my equipment and the saw someone from the corner of my eye…A man. I asked her if she was seeing a man, she nodded yes. She couldn't talk because of the ventilator

Real story
it can get really hot where I live. Summers can easily reach 120°. I work security. and sometimes they just want security on the perimeter of the building. It got so hot that my black jeans would turn red from getting sun bleached while I was wearing them and the site phone would stop working from getting to overheated but they wouldn't let me inside to cool off. Thats why I have worked nights for years now. I got plenty of stories. The creepiest was when i saved a teen from a wannabe cannible.
When i came into work I had a pass down that there was a guy that ditched a stolen car in the parking lot. The doors were all open amd the person took all the identifying markers off the car. The vin, the license plate, the cars logos. So I was instructed to keep a close eye on any suspious activity incase they show back up. That night I was hyper vigilant because I wasn't going to get into trouble if some one came back and drove off with the car before the tow truck arrived. Thats when I noticed two guys at the bus stop right off the property. The problem was the bus stopped running hours by now. So I drove the golf cart up and acted casual like I was just going there for the outside ash tray to smoke. It was a teen and a disheveled man, the man didn't look homeless but he was just unkempt and kinda creepy. I started to listen to what they were talking about. The guy was talking about how he loved women. The teen noticed me and was just like, hey, bringing the conversation over to me. The other guy was continuing his talk and started talking about how he always wanted to literally eat a woman and how he would do it. He even made slurping sounds. I didn't know how serious to take this guy, especially after the cartoonish slurping sounds he made. I was like is this just some bad morbid joke? I didn't know what to say, so I just uncomfortably gave him a sympathy chuckle. That's when the guy snapped. He was like, "You think I am a crazy! Don't you?" And that's when I noticed the teen has been scared this entire time. The teen said, "No! It was just surprising, neither of us think you are crazy. " That's when I put everything together. I thought they were togather but the teen must of been waiting at the bus stop for a bus that would never arrive when this strange guy approached him and this kid was to nice and polite for his own good to tell the guy to go away. The guy was asking the teen if the teen wanted to go to his place. They could drink alcohol, he had snacks, and they could play COD zombies togather. The guy seemed a bit too touchy aswell. touching the teens shoulder and stuff. The kid quickly was trying to make excuses about having to get home. I pretended to know the teen and said "oh BTW I came over here to tell you that your mom is waiting for you on the other side of the parking lot because the buses stopped running, I'm not normally allowed to let people through the parking lot but I'll make an exception for you." The teen took the hint and left, the guy tried to follow him but I said sorry I shouldn't even let the kid through. I only did because I knew him but I can't make an exception for you. The guy was PISSED. He picked up his luggage by the handle and started slamming it against the bus stop and started screaming and making weird sounds. Clothes was flying everywhere and he started tossing everything inside everywhere in a fit of rage. I said," Okay, have a nice night." And tried to catch up to the teen but the teen must of ran because he was already gone. I watched the guy pick up all his stuff and put it in his bag before walking off like nothing happened. And that was the end of that. The whole situation was uncomfortable but I think I saved the teen from that guy that night.
