The reason it's most pirated is because Apple TV+ is simply not available in a lot of countries. In Croatia, for example, there is no legal way to watch Silo or any other Apple TV+ show.
Two questions, can we guess the answer from what has been shown so far, and did the Legacy abandon silo 17? It doesn’t light up in blue like it does in 18. Also, I’m suspicious of people figuring out what is going on. I think they read the books and want to spoil it for those of us who decide to wait til season 4 is over.
The risk is that this series can't keep up the ultra high quality all through Season 3 and Season 4. If I would be the author I would fully tell the story until Season 3 and the end. Not more.
It’s funny I haven read the books but after the first season I totally planned to. But after the first half half of the 2nd season I was having second thoughts. The show meandered and kinda stalled a bit to me which had me thinking the book must be a little boring. I shared this thought w/a friend and she acknowledged the show was badly paced and suggested it would work better as a binge but reassured me that ur book is fast paced and doesn’t meander at all! So I’m buying the book series next wk!!
The concepts are super strong and the intrigue is off the charts I’m so fascinated with this world u built and look forward to the next few seasons as well as reading the book series!
PS ..we don’t need Juliet underwater for the entire first season- even w/out reading the book I know she ain’t dying! Just saying..
The finale though (actually the last 3 episodes) almost makes up for the slow start it was epic! I’m totally invested!!
As a reader of the books, I was ecstatic to see Steve Zahn's casting as Solo, and he did not disappoint. Just a fantastic performance, definitely award worthy.
6:36 Yes, Steve's performance as Solo/Jimmy gave it away that he had been in there since he was a child. That mix of trauma and not being able to grow emotionally mature because he was all alone was so evident in Steve's acting skills.
This is a great addition to bonus material. This is one of the best series I’ve watched. Up there with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Great job with this story man. Really enjoying it.
Loved the books; not crazy about the adaptation. The books were good enough without Judicial, unnecessary lesbians, Lukas In the mines, etc. Having a tough time getting through season 2 as a result. The mention of the backstory might be enough to keep me watching. Again, great books; struggling through the Apple TV version.

wait i clicked on this video but just realized the book is probably gonna be talked about 😭😭 i'll come back to this after the shows ended once ive read them because ive heard from people who read them after season 1 it messed with how they viewed the show
I wear a Whoop strap and sitting/watching the season finale had my Whoop convinced I was in the hardest workout I’ve done in years. And it felt like it. And I loved every second.
I read the books so long ago that I don’t recall the details except I spent most of season 2 with deep dread for Juliette’s underwater scenes (which for whatever reason horrified me in the book) and ultimately relieved these scenes were kept mercifully short in the show 🙏🫣
It is freaking awesome when you have the creator involved and tweaking the story! WoT can’t do that with Jordan, it they could haves leaned on Sanderson. Yeah, I thought S2 concluded perfectly…I know the “secret “ 😂
The show is absolutely incredible and look forward to season 3 which will probably come out in 2026 I’m guessing. I myself have been inspired by your work I will have to listen or read your books sorry but I will do that at some point. I have taken your premise of the Silo and made it into a tiered city floating mere feet off the ground. This story I’m working on is called Mindblock dealing with a dystopian society where the main power who controls the city is a faceless organization called Paradigm Corp. who are controling peoples memories. It morphs into something that could blow people away. I was inspired by a youtube video that was discussing the lore of Silo and how they can’t remember the time before living in the Silos. It got me thinking and creating a world that uses your world you have created and then jumped off from there.
I started reading the books midway through season 2 and totally pictured Jackie Earl Haley as Bernard in the books. I think the differences between the books and the Apple series actually make both more enjoyable. They’re like funhouse mirror versions of each other and love it.
I watched season 1 week to week and fell in love with the story and characters! After the S1 finale I immediately ordered the series and read all 3 books all the way through. I thought the ‘shift’ in the story was a great way to introduce the backstory in ‘Shift’ the book and a fun little Easter egg for us book readers. Can’t wait for S3 and S4! Congratulations!
Loved this season and what was done with the characters, and how they have bought Lukas back up. I have read the series a few times and watched both seasons will rewatch them. Thank you for putting the books to screen.
The problem I'm having with finishing the final 100 pages of Dust, Hugh, is I don't want the story to end and I'm afraid for characters I love. This story you've crafted in this trilogy has gone to the top of my favorites list. I absolutely love the show and the season 2 finale did not disappoint!
love all of this!!! The only thing my book reader heart missed was the back and forth communication between Juliette and Lucas when they were in the separate silos. I loved the back and forth there. So excited for season 3!
The events kept leading her back to wearing the firefighting suit. Which means it will protect her, while he falls on top of her to help buffer the flames. just my thoughts.
This was a great season and a great series – plan to proceed and read the books – also watching severance now and I hope that it ends up as good as this
Congratulations on your success. I wish fans would support more new authors. I don't know how some of you got so lucky to find an audience, but most of us never do.
Last week I bought the Silo books on Kindle. Now listening to you I'm not sure if I want to read the books inbetween S02 and S03 because I don't want to be thrown off on another tangent. I Loved S01 and 02… So good … this type of SciFi is exactly what I like with some not so predictable directions. Thanks for writing this series, I think I'll rewatch 01 and 02 again and might leave the books for now (maybe start reading them between S03 and S04). Excellent series – thank you Hugh.
Should have stuck closer to the book.
After season 1 I read the 3 books swiftly. I haven't read Sand yet but after hearing this I will be!!!
I watch way too much TV, so when I say this show is one of my all-time favorites of its genre, I mean it.
Could you mention to the same people you’re working with that “The Atlantis Gene” would also work well as a Sci-Fi mystery thriller?
The reason it's most pirated is because Apple TV+ is simply not available in a lot of countries. In Croatia, for example, there is no legal way to watch Silo or any other Apple TV+ show.
Reading Shift now. So so good!!!!

Great to hear you're half way done filming S3! Love the show, started watching S1 when S2 started, now I can't wait for S3.

Awesome books and Series production!

Rebecca and Steve have great chemistry! So emotional seeing them in those scenes.
6:36 Yes, Steve's performance as Solo/Jimmy gave it away that he had been in there since he was a child. That mix of trauma and not being able to grow emotionally mature because he was all alone was so evident in Steve's acting skills.
Wow, I am surprised how spoilerific the author is being about the next seasons.

The hard copies of the books are not (legally) available in Brazil, just audio books and Kindle… I hope the publisher changes that!
How did you learn so much about how our government works? The show at least seems very Straussian, coyly subversive.
So excited for season 3. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long. I’m gonna have to reread the books in the meantime.

I do hope S3 still has events from Silo 17 spliced in.

Will Sand be adapted?
Really enjoyed this series thank you. Although I have spent 10 weeks obsessed with where does the grooundwater get pumped to.

Episode 9 is the standout, brilliant

That hand on the shoulder scene made me tear up and nothing makes me do that. Absolutely love Silo ❤️

Loved Season 2..reading the books now..certainly don't mind being screwed with bring on season 3..
I thought season 2 was far too slow, the speed need to pick up
Wait wait wait. Did I just hear you say Steven Spielberg is helming the show for your other books? Oh my god. When does this come out?
Wow! Great update, thank you! Love it all and so glad you mentioned Tim Robbins- legend. 🙏🙏🙏

Hey dude, so happy for you with all of this, long time supporter. Continue to prosper.
