  1. Carol, your sports ensemble is fabulous! I'm super thrilled for you! Don't forget, G&G have great quality athletic fabrics (if a bit pricey-but that kind of quality is more no matter where you go). I wouldn't know what garment to make with the linen either. It is a beautiful print though. A few ideas for other uses: curtains, pillow cases, storage boxes, table cloth, travel bags, passport covers, plant box covers, grocery bags, toiletry bags, seat cushions, etc. I'm sure you saw but JoAnns is being liquidated and going out of business. The deep discounts have started. If there are any Kwik Sews patterns you'd like me to get for you, (when they go on sale) or any of the big 4 really, I can definitely check if our JoAnns has them. I'm coming to the UK in March and would be happy to post them for you there. We won't have a car, or I would try to meet you somewhere to give them to you in person. We will be in Coventry, Birmingham and then London if they are anywhere near you. She made a cute bag and a beautiful book cover from it and they look great. Just another idea for you to consider.   7. Fab outfit! Love the jacket. I like the reverse coverstitch effect. I've done it when I made some alterations to a top I made which didn't look very nice, and I used a rainbow thread in the looper which really looks good. For the new fabric I think same as someone else suggested – if you don't want a shirt, maybe an apron or cushion covers or oven gloves.

  16. Hi, Carol, that outfit is gorgeous! You did a fantastic job on those leggings, but that jacket! It is beyond cuteness! Don’t you ever say that you are not an accomplished seamstress, because you are! You have grown so much in your sewing over these years, it’s absolutely amazing. Great job, girlfriend! You could make some tote bags or cushion covers with that next fabric. It could be made into quite a few different things, let your imagination free! Take care, stay warm, and guess what? It snowed at my house! Didn’t stick around, but it was pretty to look at. I’ll be glad when this cold weather is over.❄️☃️🥶

  18. Fabulous FWoF!!!! Such great success with fabric that was hanging around. 🎉 The new fabric looks good on camera. Maybe a project other than a garment is the way to go. I have blue dishes, so placemats or napkins would be my plan. You’ll figure out something! 😊—Deborah

  20. Carole I have to tell you those leggings are my go to exercise leggings. I ma3de them out of 4way stretch ponte roma medium to heavy. I screwed up the pattern and sewdirect didn't have it anymore so I got on etsy.❤

  25. Great job on the blue active wear. I think the blue and off-white patterned fabric would work well as a button down, collared shirt, similar to a chambray-type shirt. At this point, I don’t think I would color block. I think it will look better than you imagine. You keep making beauty from ashes!😅

  36. I think it's great that I'm seeing your fabric wheel of fate all over youtube. I'd wear that all together to the gym.. It's adorable. Do you have the Sage Brush pattern? That would be cute. I just saw another person make one out of a fabric I thought wasn't the best. Her's turned out great.

  38. Awesome makes. How exciting that everyone of them worked out for you. That jacket will definitely get lots of use. Now I guess the challenge will be to make something "not boring." 🙂 Last week I made a bomber jacket for my oldest granddaughter using a new to me pattern. I made soooo many mistakes. And in the end it was too small for her, thankfully it fits her youngest sister and she really likes it. Darcey, age 6, and I had our sewing lesson this week. I made an apron for her mom and she is decorating the pockets. She told me she wants to do both the foot pedal and guide the fabric. So I thought having her decorate the pockets with fancy stitches would be a good way to start. It wouldn't matter if she "got off course." She likes to talk, so she was chatting away and notice that she wasn't really watching what she was doing. She looked at me and the said, "you really have to keep your eye on the needle when you are sewing, otherwise it might do something cheeky." Apparently her vocabulary is very influenced by the Bluey. I also made three "taco bags" this week, I needed an easy win. After I made one I couldn't resist and made two more. They are all different sizes. The mini one is so cute. Thanks for sharing and best of luck with the new wheel challenge.

  43. Lovely, they turned out really well. I love that jacket ! You could make a fitted, shorter sleeved blouse with a neru collar ( maybe dark blue ) and then wear it with the jacket over it . The pattern is lovely but , yes, it is a bit of a puzzler what to make. Hope you had a great time in Austria. have a nice week. Barb

  44. Great garments from the fabric on the first spin!!! I love the jacket especially! Do you need bias tape? That’s out-of-the-box thinking for this week’s wheel. Haha! If it were for me, I’d make wrap, wide leg pants, but I know that’s not something you’d wear. Silver Threads is doing the Fabric Wheel of Fate, and just finished a beautiful skirt! Have a good week!

    I noticed that Diann @Silver ThreadsSewing is doing the #fabricwheeloffate too. Her husband did a great job with the wheel. It’s similar to the one your dad made for you.
