  1. i normally despise this kind of arc when its on a character but it suited Maria it didnt come out of nowhere her hatred for her father was always there, and while she was optimistic she was never naive she understood people need to die in these situations so this wasnt her character gaining darkness, she was feeding the darkness she already had, she still has stupidity, making foolish choices and while she kind of puts the darkness at bay, and starts to see some light, its still there i would love for her in season 3 to grow in different ways i dont want her evil i wouldnt like her as a villain but id love to see her kind of become an anti-hero type character have her struggle with darkness be a common thing until she makes the conscious choice to do good

  2. I didn’t think how the abbot could be an even bigger hypocrite with summoning demons and desecrating corpses and teaming up with fucking vamps. And now we see his fucking spell book is from a pagan god full of evil spells?!?!?

  3. She gave really strong "post bloodbending Katara" energy. She got a fucked up new power up and IMEDIATELY started crashing out. Execept she didn't stop when probably should have.

  4. Honestly Maria's arc feels like a really potent metaphor for trauma and how it effects people. It never fully goes away, we never fully come back to the light, but we slowly learn to manage it and not let it control us. Those who don't end up going down dark and destructive paths, and how very easy it is to do so.
