They were shut down. There was a law passed, they lost in the courts and they followed the law. I don't know how we came to expect that the president has the authority to just not follow the law. The insanity was the law passed and why it was made. But to claim that since no government action was made to literally shut them down but they followed the law on their own is just wrong. That is what is expected of companies, that they will follow the written law and courts decisions. Biden could also have written the executive delay for 90 days (since we made up they can do that) – he actively chose not to.

Being concerned about what evil might be done with data collection only when it’s in relation to the CCP is not a good look. The shell-shock with which Trump’s victory has stunned so many of us should not prevent acknowledging the total failure of the Democratic party, its leadership and elected officials and their supposed media allies. They are equally as much to blame as is Joe Biden’s hubris in seeking re-election. Why were they willing to force him out but only so late in the day that there was no chance for an open competition for the nomination and for the emergence of a fresh face, including an honest consideration of America’s culpability in funding Netanyahu’s wildly disproportionate response to the Hamas atrocity?
Go back and examine – carefully and honestly – how exactly did you respond in Fall 2023 to Congressman Dean Phillips’ warning that this is exactly where we would be if Joe Biden sought renomination for a second term? Did you ridicule it or ignore it altogether? The answers will be a key first step in explaining the crushing failure of the Democratic party’s leadership, the self-appointed pundits of the mainstream media, and the political class in general to prevent the current catastrophe.
