  1. Thanks for being honest with your answers and thoughts on this! I'll always enjoy your videos, especially when it comes to the stealth genre. While I'm happy you and many others that do decide to purchase the game have a lot to enjoy, this is still really not for me as an entire package for various personal reasons (gameplay preference and historical context and how Ubisoft has handled their marketing of this game).

I will say this… almost everything about Naoe's gameplay, as you've discussed it, would have been something I'd like to have more of a focus on in a game. I'd be lying if her gameplay loop (stealth and even the high-risk combat) didn't interest me at all. Always appreciate nuanced discussions like this that, as a different commentor already said, don't overtly hate on nor completely glaze over a piece of entertainment.

  2. My main concern about this game is narrative, and what changes have been made to the franchise's entire lore, since Ubisoft Quebec like to make unnecessary changes. And since they control the franchise now – don't have much hope. So when the game comes out I will be lapping up all spoilers I can because I don't trust Quebec.

  3. Im really digging the stealth aspects of the game you describe. Really seems like there's a lot of skill expression to be had in that aspect. Parkour being the same as the last few games is fine with me, I've never been as attached to it as others have been, it was always just a tool for me to get from A to B or to a high point, so lack of mechanical depth doesn't bother me. I'm just glad you can't climb on literally everything like Odyssey. That was dumb.

Speaking of Odyssey, I gotta say that lumping Odyssey and Valhalla together because they're both RPG games isn't quite accurate, it's different enough to where they're subfactions of people who like one and hate the other, usually because of the way each handles loot and skills (I though Valhalla was worse than Odyssey in everyway in those aspects, among others lol). All this to say, I'm ecstatic they're leaning towards Odyssey instead of Valhalla in a lot of ways while still innovating and bringing stuff from older games.

Also, I can't wait to see you talk about the Animus Hub. It looks really interesting based on everything we've seen. For the first time in forever, it finally feels like Ubisoft has a plan for Modern Day, and based on what you've said, the vibes are definitely good. I'm also really glad it's not a separate launcher/application. When they first announced it, that's what it kinda sounded like, and I was afraid they were gonna section off the Modern Day to it only, and each game wouldn't have their own connection to the Modern Day. Knowing that it's integrated into each game means that Modern Day will still be a mainstay of the series!

  4. Damn, I just started playing Ghost for the first time as a way to pass time until this releases and that game surpassed my expectations. Just like you, I’m loving it! I was pretty excited about Shadows before, but now I think it’s probably going to be a letdown in comparison. Although the fact that you said stealth is a lot better here gives me some hope, since that is what I’m primarily interested in and has always been really weak in AC games IMO. Hitman is one of my favourite games in this aspect with a number of different opportunities you have for assassinations. Do you think this game will have options for some “scripted” assassinations?

  5. Wait wait wait wait. UBI QUEBEC got the tone right?

I had sworn off this game the moment I knew which team was responsible. But if Quebec's doing a redemption arc I might just have to give in. Looking forward to your full review.

  6. the stealth and difficulty stuff i heard has got me cautiously optimistic. i hated how in valhalla the difficulty felt quite pathetic especially if you bothered to explore at all. in the first act you are already outleveling everything and the combat went from meh to boring.

  7. EVERYONE PLEASW READ THIS. THESE REVIEWS ARE FAKE. they have bots in the comments, like read them its just the same comments that are left in every Assassin shadows videos!!! Just look at other reviews and you will see. And plus all these channels with not even 10k views would not be givin the chance to play the game

  8. Can you clarify how exactly the seasons work? I saw a preview that said a season only lasts 40 minutes, isn that too short? And you have to manually change it once the timer os full?

  9. Hmm, swapping out characters on-the-fly seems a little TOO generous. Unless the 2 approach every single mission together, an instant swap would feel a bit weird to me. A small thing. Appreciate your in-depth analysis! As an AC AND Splinter Cell fan since the beginning, I'm definitely picking this up!
