Meaning in settings where you need another armor, you can’t wear the Poseidon armor, or the default armor. Barring the enemy type antics, you won’t ever take damage that can be avoided with the right armor as it will switch instantly when needed.
Upon reflection I realized that the Siren form semi gives you mechanics akin to that of Ecco the Dolphin, but still I think Europa steers better.

Definitely shares mechanics from the Metroidvania types but I agree, it definitely has its own identity. The musical/artistic focus is unique story wise and the way that Europa advances and grows stronger so rapidly feels very fresh as well.
