I know I'm harping on it, but it's so strange seeing a ship sunk from structural damage with zero flooding.

Watching the last couple of episodes has got me questioning how sinking by structural damage actually works. Even though most compartments are damaged, there's no sign of the hull actually flooding.

I wonder if armor scheme has something to do with your hulls being easy to breach.
Most of your modern capital ships have a very short armored citadel, and with the all or nothing layout, less than half is actually protected by the main belt while the rest of the hull is just 2, 3, or 4 inches and therefore easy to penetrate especially with big guns.
Also, I'm now starting to look at their inability to take flooding hits with suspicion that an old bug has returned. With that many shells, those battlecruiser should have some sections beneath the waterline cracked open like an egg.

The Saint Lawrence Estuary, named for the Saint Lawrence of Rome martyred by the pagan Roman Emperor Valerian in ε.Κ. 5776, A.D. 268, would see the first action of the newly commissioned and christened Niki class Thoriktá 1is vathmídas Salamis, Trajan, Antoninus Pius, Hadrian, and Nerva. They met the New Zealand class battlecruiser Hector, who at least is named for a Trojan and not a Greek.
Hector swept in with a January gale, attempting to close on the Niki’s under the cover of rain. With little sea room the ships formed on Salamis. Hector appeared from the seaward end of the Estuary, and got the first hit on Salamis, which she tanked. Salamis and the division began to reply. Salamis did the first damage, her standard sized shells having more punch. But Hector managed to do damager herself on her next salvo. The two ships exchange more fire but it was Trajan who got the critical early hit, taking out Hector’s main tower. Salamis took more hits and was ordered to withdraw.
Hector however couldn’t withdraw, being alone. Antoninus Pius took the lead. Hector continued to take hits, with her X turret destroyed and her Y turret damaged. Steadily eroded, Hector broke up in the storm, losing 1434 of her 1629 man crew. Salamis took 179 casualties with 25 men treated and returned to duty within the week. Antoninus Pius took 141 casualties but with only 7 men returned to duty so far.

The Niki class Thoriktó 1is vathmídas Kos, two Leon class Thoriktá 1is vathmídas, the Ierax and Kountouriotis, the four Doxa class Katadromiká máchis, Doxa, back from her long delayed repairs, Thermopolae, Episteme, and Dogma, and and the three Kataphraktos class Katadromiká máchis, Kataphraktos, Mugiatbosmo, and Theodosius, were not on the west side of the North Atlantic covering the landings at Halifax when the lead of the New Zealand class of battlecruisers showed up to engage them as New Brunswick fell.
New Zealand came in hard, angled so she could use only her forward turrets. She was in the Kos’ range before there was a hit made. New Zealand took several hits that did not breach her armor. She then turned to bring all her guns to bear. As more hits came in she got her first hit on Thermopolae. With her steering damaged and her secondary tower gone New Zealand was clearly now kiting away. The rising damage toil was too much, and New Zealand broke up just before getting another hit on Thermopolae. New Zealand lost 1352 of her 1629 man crew. Thermopolae took 111 casualties with 22 men returned to duty after treatment.
Halifax and Nova Scotia surrendered immediately after the battle.

Brief: The Victory class will consist of one hundred Antitorpiliká designed to a target displacement of 2,000 tons and a top speed of 36 knots. With construction funds expended on expanding the Niki class, producing ships for the naftikoí stathmoí we have acquired during the current war has had to wait. These ships should make a solid contribution to covering these new requirements.
Propulsion: The class has three gas turbine engines provided steam by three burning advanced fuel oil vented though one funnel generating 39,037 indicated horsepower turning three variable pitch screws for the required top speed on a design displacement of 1,998 tons fully loaded with a unbalanced rudder turned by advanced electro-hydraulic power for an operational range of 7,522 nautical miles. The class carries diesel auxiliary engines for emergency power.
Armament: The class' main battery is three single turrets mounted in one forward and two super firing aft bearing 5"/50 Mark 5 guns with 1.5" face, 0.5" top Improved Modern steel alloy armor, turned by advanced electro-hydraulic systems with advanced automatic reloading, using modernized Coincidence range finders, and with the most advanced flash fire protection. The main magazine carries an Standard load of Standard sized 62.5% Base Fuze HE and 37.5% Improved Capped Ballistic AP shells using Triple Base as the propellant and Composition B as the bursting charge. One quintuple Mark 5 deck torpedo mounts launching a standard load of 24" torpedoes with compressed oxygen aided combustion rounds out the armament.
Protection: Improved Modern steel alloy armor is clade 0.8" on the main belt, 0.6" on the extended belt, 0.4" on the main deck, 0.2" on the extended deck, 0.8" on the superstructure, and 1.1" on the conning tower. The Class has a double bottom hull, reinforced bulkheads with water tight hatches separating Standard compartmentation, counter-flooding systems, improved pumps and piping for flooding reduction. A crew of 229 officers and enlisted men will be provided standard quarters. The class carries advanced SONOR and advanced RADAR systems.
Construction: The class will consist of one hundred ships. Build time will be 6 months with a commissioning time of 1 month. Cost per ship will be $184,785,200, and monthly maintenance in port of $5,615,104.

The Cerberus, lead of her class of Katadromiká máchis, and the Poseiden class Katadromikó máchis Kryptes Thanatos and Aionios seem to be assigned to play defense, stopping the British from their attempts to retake territories we’ve taken off them. The British have landings ongoing against Belfast and Liverpool, and to protect the landings they have two of their newest heavy cruisers, the 1960 Royal Arthur class Bedford and Argyll, in the Irish Sea. But while the Poseiden class was laid down in August of 1916 A.D. and refitted last in November 1948 A.D., and Cerberus laid down in September of 1920 A.D. and refitted at the same time, they carry six or nine 16”/50 mark 5 guns, and the Royal Arthurs three single 10.1” guns. Twenty-four to six, in total.
Cerberus got the first solid hit on Bedford, punching through her main belt, taking out her 3.2” B turret, and flooding her in two compartments forward. Bedford took another flooding hit aft. She had 160 casualties reported. Then a hit from Aionios took out Bedford’s 3.2” shell magazine, and the ship exploded, losing 1364 of her 1605 man crew.
Unfazed, Argyll continued to close, now in range to fire her one forward and two aft main gun turrets. Aionios again, with the best angle, punched a shell right under her engineering compartments, starting them flooding. The next hit took out a torpedo launcher but Argyll had already fired her port side quadruple torpedo launcher. Aionios continued to get good hits and Argyll sank with 1428 of her 1605 man crew.
Just minutes later Kryptes Thanatos to take a hit from one of Bedford’s torpedoes. She had managed to launch as well. Kryptes Thanatos took 55 casualties with just one man able to be returned to duty after treatment. There were 417 British survivors picked up. Some more may have made it ashore, shed their uniforms, and blended in with the now accepting populace.
In Ulster the GRBEA was able to inflict over 5000 casualties on the ARS troops in the area for only 2100 of their own.

The new British battlecruiser class, the New Zealand, is a 53 thousand ton vessel armed with four twin 18.3”/61 mark 5 gun turrets mounted ABXY as the main battery, four twin 8.6” gun turrets mounted two per side tucked under the B and Y turrets as the secondary, and twenty-six twin 3.1” gun mounts as the tertiary. They have a top speed of 33 knots and a cruise speed of 23.5 knots, a crew of 1629 officers and men in cramped quarters, take 28 months to build, cost $1.47 billion each, and cost $143 million a month to operate. They are therefore bigger and better armed than our Doxa class, but not as fast nor as well armored, with their advanced modern armor only 8.5” thick on the main belt and 10.2” thick on the faces of main battery turret lacking the most modern flash fire protection. Their light shells use Cordite low burn as the propellant and TNT high mixture as the bursting charge for their capped ballistic HE shells and semi-ballistic AP shells, with advanced electro-hydraulic turning engines and advanced automatic loading systems giving them a nearly two rounds a minute firing rate.
We found the specifications in the Admiralty House in London, somehow not burned.
The first to engage us was the Incomparable, named after the lost Zealous class battlecruiser sunk at Fourth Azores. She attempted to disrupt the landings at Bergen meant to liberate southern Norway and place it under the Danikí Antivasileía along with southern Sweden and the rest of Greenland. The covering fleet, besides consisting of the four Doxa class Katadromiká máchis, Doxa, Thermopolae, Episteme, and Dogma, and the three Kataphraktos class Katadromiká máchis, Kataphraktos, Mugiatbosmo, and Theodosius, and two Leon class Thoriktá 1is vathmídas, the Ierax and Kountouriotis, but also the Niki class Thoriktó 1is vathmídas Kos with her nine 18” guns.
Kos opened fire but Incomparable got the first hit on Kataphraktos. Incomparable chose to come in at an angle and target a ship such that she couldn’t utilize her Y turret, cutting her firepower by 25%. The 15” and 16” hits she took at range did little damage initially. Then two 16” punched through her fore belt. Incomparable struck back at the Doxa, doing serious damage. Now whole salvos were finding Incomparable before she could get two more hits on Doxa. The next salvos coming in included 18” shells from Kos, but the range for her was extreme and they didn’t penetrate. The 15” and 16” in the following salvo did however and Incomparable was sunk with 1450 of her 1629 man crew.
Doxa took 125 casualties, with 25 men treated and returned to duty within the week. Kataphraktos took 17 casualties with 9 men treated and returned to duty. 179 British survivors were picked up from the freezing North Sea waters.
