🤔 NEW HERE? 🤔
Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Dragon Age, etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games too!

XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year.
Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.
Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.
XCOM ON THE RUN: Take command of the Avenger, an alien supply craft converted to XCOM’s mobile headquarters. New open-ended gameplay lets you decide where to guide your strike team, how to grow popular support, and when to combat enemy counter-operations.
RECRUIT RESISTANCE FIGHTERS: Five soldier classes, each with its own skill tree, let you create specific soldiers for your tactical plan.
TACTICAL GUERRILLA COMBAT: New gameplay systems offer more tactical flexibility in combat. Use concealment to ambush enemy patrols. Loot enemies for precious gear and artifacts. Rescue VIPs and save fallen comrades by carrying them to the extraction point.

Let's pretend I gave Warwulf a Shadow Lance instead of Temnotic 🙂
Well worth the wait! That was a bit too intense
Per your Photo Booth musings: Jeopardy rules would be “What is 🤯?”
With the chosen assassin weapons, few will be able to use them and honestly unless someone has bladestorm the Katana won’t see much action. The Arashi however has a underutilized user in Celeste “Rattlesnake” Lowe who’s almost a Colonel and with the engineer/Swat soldier tree has some very powerful utility in terms of disabling enemies using the arc thrower she can deal massive electrical damage to robotic units and has been very underutilized
Hope you are feeling better,commander
I guess Cybernetic will swap positions with Raven for a while, until he is rdy again 😁
6:15 You can tell how OP you are now by the cavalier decisions you make versus older videos where you agonize over each move for 10 minutes lol.
16:39 The amount of spam from the Chosen in the chat is so dumb, they're like Fortnite children… Once again recommend the mod "Hush Little Chosen"
28:22 Cyclic fire advertising 36 damage, does 4 lol
40:49 this is why I prefer heal bombs because you can heal 3 soldiers in a cluster, instead of the nanomedikits
44:28 Holy smokes that summon was some high level bs eh
52:48 "I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of him" Uh yeah, this was our 600th encounter with him so…. man, the narrative in this game is so silly. Also, spectral zombies should collapse when the Chosen falls because they're summons. A lot of the Warlock's abilities make no sense honestly.
1:06:00 Some major bed shitting on the overwatch shots wow
My GOAT still shining, but holy fudge was that close from that BS, iykyk
In hindsight, it would have been quite amusing to finish the mission by just dominating the Gatekeeper.
Wow! What an episode!
52:19 when killing the warlock, active enemies went from 8 to 4, must be that only the ruptured zombie stays after death.
Cyclic fire seems to count the full armor bonus of the target for every shot that the enemy gets hit by
Remember when you said you missed going to the gym? This episode was your brain saying "fine, I'll benchpress myself"
1:13:38 Warwolf appreciating his flank art
Talk to your guys. That marionette skill should have worked.
Hope you get fully better soon, those sort of regular bumps in health are not fun! This series has gotten into really epic proportions with a mission like this where there's one crazy thing after the other hitting again and again. Can't express how much I love this!!!! Many, many thanks for each awesome moment!!!!! 😁 (Also, it was super nice seeing Leigh again, we salute you mama-bear soilder!!!)
Doe we miss more shots on high chances at this difficulty level or is it just how it feels?
A few general thoughts that cropped up over the course of the episode.
1. I think we saw here how important it is to have healing on more than one person in a squad, especially for long missions like this. Shrike came in with the ability to do only 24 potential healing (4 healing x 6 charges), and that was all you had except for Cybernetic's Soul Steal. You'd taken more than 24 damage before the halfway point, and ended up taking 39 damage overall. The only soldiers capable of solo-healing a big mission are Knightfather and Sentinel, otherwise you really need additional healing on at least a second soldier (and even with one of the two big healers, an extra medkit on someone just in case the main healer gets incapacitated would help).
2. Regardless of the time required, I think you absolutely must put Caerbannog in for training to boost her aim. That aim stat you saw at 1:43:52 is deceptive – it includes the scope from the gun she still had equipped after the mission. Her real base aim is only 88, which is actually pretty pitiful for a Brigadier. You saw throughout this mission how low her shot %s often were. Her aim is the one critical thing holding her back from really delivering that amazing damage potential. Remember that she's consistently had the lowest accuracy on the roster except for Cybernetic (whose job really isn't shooting) – you've been lucky with Caerbannog hitting a lot of those low % shots anyway, but you do not want to let rng catch up with you someplace like Leviathan. She needs every aim boost you can get her.
3. Regarding Leviathan, I wouldn't be quite so cavalier about the first section. Almost certainly, that first part will have at least one Legate or Mechapede (or both😨😱), along with other Requiem madness. That means you'll have to handle that top-tier enemy without losing anybody, burning through all of your healing, or expending a bunch of your irreplaceable abilities – something which has remained a challenge. So you still need to nail down how you want to handle those, and also think about who to bring on Leviathan as a scout so you can hopefully see them coming.
It's fun to think back, at the start of (admittedly the last) season where a gunship basically ended the series. Now they are nothing. Man I love XCOM.
Good job Commander. It looked like you were going to be overrun but you kept your cool 👍
Codex Brain Potent Potables
I'm surprised you did not reload the save when the supposedly marionetted cyberdisk shot at you.
Glad it didn't backfire.
