Humanity Rising 1058: State of World Forum 2.0

Between 1995 – 2,000, the State of the World Forum was convened by Mikhail Gorbachev and a global pantheon of co-chairs to discern the “state of the world” at the end of the Cold War and what possibilities there might be for peace in the emerging world order. Each Fall, a five day conference was convened at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco from 1995 – 1999 and culminating at the New York Hilton in New York in 2000 to coincide with the Millennium Summit of heads of state. The years 2025 – 2030 represent another equally potentiated moment. Major world issues challenge humanity, ranging from extreme weather events, artificial intelligence, geo-strategic rivalries, human health and wellbeing, the impact of social media, the growing disparity between rich and poor, among numerous others. All of us at some level realize that these next few years will be critical to future human development and the viability of the global planetary ecology. This creates an extraordinary opportunity to recreate the Forum within the new context.
