Her feet bled from the ice & cold – Stray Rescue of St.Louis

by

A couple of days ago, it was single digits. We found this dog living all alone in an abandoned building. Because it’s been so cold, the snow and ice won’t melt, causing hazardous situations for people and animals. When we found this little girl, we found blood in her paw prints in the snow. Her feet were bleeding from being out in the brutal elements.
She was so scared at first when we found her. She wanted to trust us so badly, but she couldn’t take that leap of faith to come close enough to get a lead over her head. So we set a trap. Thankfully, she went in as she couldn’t’ resist a warm breakfast in her skinny body.
Some of our police friends and heroes, Officer Ottengheime and Officer Stevens, were patrolling the area and met us at the property to help carry the trap down a steep staircase, covered in ice. (Shout out to Officer Ottengheime who helps us and so many animals all year long).
We finally got her loaded in the warm Jeep, and knew her feet were finally thawing. When we got her into the shelter and out of the trap, she climbed up in everyone’s lap giving thankful wet kisses to everyone. She’s been the most affectionate little bundle of joy now that she is safe! We named her Dippin Dottie, because of those adorable little spots in her black and white coat.
🖤 Baby, you will never EVER shiver again.
🤍 Your feet will never feel like fire.
🖤 You will never feel the ache from a hollow belly again.
🤍 You will never be so lonely, so scared.
🖤 You’re free, you’re safe.
Now, here comes the begging. Who can help by taking this little cookies n cream baby home to foster? Right now she is in a crate because our shelter is too overfull. Let’s get her on a couch. YOUR COUCH! Can you come get someone special today? Tomorrow? Let us know!

  38. Where would we be without rescuers we need microchipping, better laws and they need to be enforced jail time it should be a felony they should pay a huge fine put on a registry and no more animals for these people. We need to vote for politicians who will strengthen laws for the good of animals. Please go to the internet under Change and sign all the petions for the good of animals. Politicians need to open their eyes to all the animals being abused it's right under their noses and getting worse evueryday we need something done ASAP! Animals are voiceless were their voice you see something say something animals have suffered way too Long . Get rid of BREEDERS that's a huge issue people should not benefit off of the sale of animals period !
