About Finnair (from Wikipedia):
Finnair (Finnish: Finnair Oyj, Swedish: Finnair Abp) is the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland, with its headquarters in Vantaa on the grounds of Helsinki Airport, its hub. Finnair and its subsidiaries dominate both domestic and international air travel in Finland. Its major shareholder is the government of Finland, which owns 55.9% of its shares (as of 2014). Finnair is a member of the Oneworld airline alliance. Finnair is the sixth oldest airline in continuous operation and is consistently listed as one of the safest in the world.

About Airbus A350 (from Wikipedia):
The Airbus A350 is a long-range, wide-body twin-engine airliner developed and produced by Airbus. The initial A350 design proposed in 2004, in response to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, would have been a development of the Airbus A330 with composite wings and new engines. Due to inadequate market support, Airbus switched in 2006 to a clean-sheet “XWB” (eXtra Wide Body) design, powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB high bypass turbofan engines. The prototype first flew on 14 June 2013 from Toulouse, France. Type certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) was obtained in September 2014, followed by certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) two months later.

  1. 9:32 That's exactly how I felt when I flew Qatar Airways, your favorite airline, and Finnair's oneworld partner, for the first time, arriving from Lahore to Doha in Concourse C at Hamad International Airport, checking the gate toward my connecting flight from Doha to Toronto (yes, they came back to YYZ), was also in Concourse C. Although it wasn't a 30 second walk, but it was still a short walking distance. Take that, DXB and IST!

  2. I love how Finnair use their A350/A330 fleet also on short hauls regularly, like currently to LHR. And next summer also to AMS, BRU and MUC. Often easy to get an upgrade to Business Class.

  3. I personally think this seat is not that good. I flown this a few times Doha to Copenhagen and really did not like the idea of sliding down at least not when you are a bit older as it becomes an effort getting up and down. It might be visually nice but not practical for longer flights. I am from Sweden so I do appreciate the scandi touches but I am happy to see that Qatar seems to have gone away from using Finnair on that route so back to real quality flat beds with Qatar.

  4. Having spent a small amount of my childhood in Finland, I know Finnair well. The warmth of the Finnish flight attendants are second to none. I appreciate how they have elevated their Business Class experience. But I hate what they have done to their Economy. But everyone in Europe has done that.

  5. Another top vlog Dan! I'm definitely looking at booking with Finnair to BKK soon. The only thing that puts me off is you only get a complimentary seat reservation with their Business Flex ticket and there's no indication of how much a seat reservation will cost with the other fares, presumably until after you've booked the ticket. For that reason I think, at time of writing, SAS would be my choice.

  6. IT's hard to go wrong in an A350. It's a great plane…spacious and the interior is well appointed usually.
I flew on the A350 with PAL for 16 hours nonstop between JFK and Manila in business class. One look into economy however lets you understand why you need to be in Business Class. There's just so much less space back there.

I love the 1x2x1 layout but hate the angled seats. I HATE THAT. I flew on a KLM 787 with those herring bone angled seats and it was so much tighter than the PAL flights.

ANA's THE ROOM is in an entirely different league. It's a private space thanks to the closing doors.

  7. When I was cabin crew, breakfast was the best meal we served in business. I think the cheese on omelettes and scrambles ended up making it always turn out great in the ovens. I don't know why breakfast always gets such a bad rap

  8. I would to register a different opinion.

I flew the Helsinki – BKK route in business class and I found the seat to be rather uncomfortable on the long flight, wasn't able to sleep very much.

The blueberry juice, entertainment, service etc was all great.

But the seat is still the most important thing for me, and for me Oman air has provided the most consistent seat quality.

I fly BKK – Europe a few times every year.

  9. Dan, I was planning to book a flight from Europe back home with one transit stop only. After watching this video, I immediately remembered having some Avios from BA. So, I redeemed a flight with Finnair Business without any hesitation on impulse. Now, I have 2 transit stops instead of 1😂😂😂
