You're freaking kidding, aren't you? Midnight Oil have had thirteen albums with a 45 year career, with many hits. As have The Church, 45 years and 26 albums. Same goes for many of these artists. Huge disrespect and just plain ignorance.
Cutting Crew was another band that had a shorter career but many great songs (Any Colour, I've been in Love before, The Scattering). Please.

I'd add "Your Love" by The Outfield and "She's a Beauty" by The Tubes.
"Ah Leah" by Donnie Iris (1980) is a better song than any of the ones on this list. And "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes won the Song of the Year Grammy in 1982. Carnes wasn't a one-hit wonder but none of her other songs came close to BDE in popularity and some of the artists mentioned in this video had other hits too.

1:08 Sorry, but that extended high note (in a song that was only in the Top 10 across parts of America alone for a few weeks) is engineered. How do I know? I've been a music engineer for 40 years, have 'perfect pitch' and can clearly see at 1:20 where the guy holding the note drops down a few keys.

I was in my twenties in the 80's and had a band of my own. It was a country band, but I rarely missed " Friday Night Videos " Kind of ashamed to say that I am not familiar with a few of these songs. Love them all.

Yikes I forgot how terrible most of the music being played in the 80’s was. The 80’s had great music but it just wasn’t being played on the radio from The Cure, R.E.M., Violent Femmes, Dead Kennedy’s, Metallica, Motörhead, Minor Threat, etc… honestly I could go on and on.
