  1. 7:00 Friendly reminder that Donald not healing you is, for the most part, just a meme. In the Final Mix version of the game (aka the one you're playing) you can go to the menu and customize his AI to change how often he uses each kind of magic, making sure that, more often than not, he has enough magic to instantly heal you when you need it. You can do the same with Goofy's attacks and with both of them using (or not using) items I believe. Unfortunately, the AI in this game isn't that good, so Donald and Goofy will constantly and idiotically get themselves KO'd in any boss fight and you'll be fighting solo half of the time, which also means you shouldn't depend on them to heal you because they can't if they're dead

  2. Donald becomes one of the best healbots in any game I've ever played by going into his customize menu and setting everything to Occasionally except putting Defensive Magic on Constantly.

Also don't worry too much about the comments saying you shouldn't've sold the purple items. Synthesis is useful but not super important. And definitely don't worry about getting the Ultima Weapon. It's almost never worth the grind, especially in KH1.

  3. You should absolutely keep Giga CHAD Donald, Kermit might be more appropriate but honestly just makes the CHAD voice all the funnier for him. Plus since CHAD Donald has grown on Ali there is now NO reason NOT to keep it that way for the rest of the franchise.

  4. I forgot to mention last part but I’m with Ali, I hadn’t heard the word “traverse” before when I first played this, so I pronounced it as “TRA-verse Town” too. Still do, even though I know that’s wrong.

Your memory is correct Ali, in the original version the Guard Armor was mostly purple. For the Final Mix version (and this applies to both II and BBS as well), for some reason they changed the color palettes of all the enemies. Some of them look alright, and then you got this knockoff Gundam reject of a boss. And there’s no option to change them back to their original looks either (without mods anyway). Really wish they added that.

  5. 1. They did add the ability to skip cutscenes, so yes, you won't hear the same boss fight preamble over and over.

    2. They did in fact recolor the boss of Traverse Town.

    3. The Final Fantasy characters give Sora 500 money is basically the equivalent of giving him five bucks, which is funny to think about.

  6. You could grind, not just for exp, but keep those shards in the back of your mind for later.

And yes, Guard Armor was purple in the original. Ally was right.

Also forgot to mention last part, that added scene with Riku was not in the original, but they kept it mute cause the va's sounded older and it would sound weird. Just look at Beauty and the Beach, a pokemon episode that was never aired until it got altered.

Also, kudos to Disney for getting in touch with Alice's original voice actress after 50 years. Sadly she passed away a few years back. May she rest in peace.

Unfortunately all you'll get are cutscenes from 358/2 days and Recoded without any of the gameplay. Probably for the best since there are a couple of bad bosses from 358/2 days: Leechgrave, Ruler of the Skies, Dustflier.

  7. Choosing Staff at the start gives you more MP which is important for magic stuff not just cuz of the obvious but also MP IS ALSO YOUR MAGIC DAMAGE STAT. So more MP also means more magic power at the same time. Shield gives more Defense and Accessory slots. The choice also determines the order in which you learn abilities from 1-99, which is the biggest change cuz it massively changes how you play the game.

  9. Woah, youtube’s being weird and multi-posting that one comment. Anyway, as far as defensive options, keep an eye on enemy attack patterns and you can parry a la Sekiro just by attacking their attack. That’s what the “Tech” is, you get raw EXP out of it and can stun enemies that way.

  10. Donald is NOT a bad healer you just need to not over rely on him to do it for you every time. I have never had a single problem with Donald healing me in any of the games he's a party member in. So as long as you don't suck at the game there should'nt be an issue but this is you guys we're talking about.

  11. oh that was paindul. Did they really jsut sell Myhril Shards? Well at least that tells they wont even bother trying to get, THAT weapon. Thoose shards are hard to come by and are needed for a lot of thinsg in order to reach it. Strange Ali did not mention that, maybe she forgot.

  12. While you do get a high jump that can reach those chests, the Wonderland map is basically a claustrophobic jumbled spaghetti mess, with one way doors that go to all sorts of wonky places and passages that are blocked off and require certain mechanics unique to the world.

There are some places unreachable until later anyways, so don't spend too much time worrying how to get chests you see.

  13. 11:27 Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this, but if you had defeated Leon during that fight earlier, this is where he would've given you an Elixir. Very good item to hoard so you have plenty of them to use for the late-game boss fights, cause you're gonna need them

  14. Yes, Guard Armor used to be purple, which I will forever insist is the correct color scheme. On the other hand, in the original release of Kingdom Hearts, there was no "skip cutscene" button. If you died to a boss, you had to watch the cutscene again. Lighting the fireplace in the Accessory Shop causes smoke to come out of the chimney on the roof. There's no reward for it or anything, but that's the attention to detail that this game has. Unfortunately, none of the other KH games quite match this one in that regard.
