CFMOTO 450MT Takes On Tough, Wet Enduro Tracks

It was wet and the the 450MT (IBEX) went some places it shouldn’t go. I visit the Glasshouse Mountains to test out suspension settings, engine mapping and some other mods and tweaks. #adventure #motorcycle

  1. Great riding mate! Impressive how you handled those slippery conditions with the stock tires which are said to be horrible for mud apparently. Did you have TC on?
    Good on ya for putting the bike through it's paces! Look forward to seeing more of your build. Have fun and stay safe ✌

  2. Either those stock tires are superb or you are an enduro savant…and I have a hunch the stock tires are poop, good riding! Looks like the fueling stumble struck right when you gassed it in the water hole…engine fell flat for a second and you front tire washed because of it…

  3. Fantastic riding Curtis. Talk about sloppy AF on stock tires. I still can’t get over how good that lil 450 twin sounds, it’s so mean with stock exhaust. When you wick it up in the faster tracks you can tell it just soaks everything up and floats underneath you. Can’t wait to see how she does with better tires and some more protection.

  4. Love you work as always, Curtis.
    Just got back from an overnighter camping off the 450MT down here in Victoria.
    Bike went great both on and offroad for some off-grid camping.

  5. On and Off throttle best way to run in a motor; Helps with cross hatching the bore, bedding rings and prevents glazing;
    Great to see a good rider giving the 450MT a thorough work out where no heavy adventure bike belongs; A set of decent off road bias tyres will help heaps but where you took the bike on the wet, slow technical stuff shows just how capable it is at finding traction even with the stock tyres and snappy throttle response;
    Rear shock; Does it have rebound adjustment? Maybe a bit more preload and stiffer/slower rebound on the rear will help the front track a bit better in the slower stuff? Suspension looks to work good on the faster sections and launches and lands the erosion mounds without issue so I'd be reluctant to suggest softening the front for the single track like I would on enduro days;
    Clutch feel; maybe a shorter lever might help? There are some good quality adjustable levers on fleabay; I think I paid about $60 for the levers I put on the R1200GS; Otherwise, next option is stiffer clutch springs…
    Surprised to hear you say you've only just discovered the joys of standing on the pegs for the technical stuff seeing as you scoot that heavy bike along at a decent pace; (you obviously know how to ride)
    Speaking of footpegs, the stock 'pegs look a bit narrow to stand on comfortably; Having a wider platform to stand on will improve your confidence standing up; Not cheap (@ $400) but I like the original (not chinese) Pivot Pegz; Others don't like them but I find they help keep the foot planted; Easier on the ankles and knees too…

    Looks like you've got yourself a great bike at a great price; I look forward to watching the progress of it as you sort it out more;

    Thanks for sharing the ride; It was worthwhile watching. Cheers!

  6. No bs straight to the point CF Moto should have given you this bike as a long time term tester… You are advertising this bike very very well for them. Now all seriousness this bike under a rider with some skills like yourself unlike me, is perfect for what you have put her through… Very well priced bang for your buck Id say and way cheaper than a T7… A set of Motoz adventures on her and you may ride her to Arizona🤣🤣🤣🤣
    Job well done sir. If I was in the market for a bike like this I would buy her right after your video ended…🫵rock
