As someone who is extremely pro-vampire in elder scrolls games, I love this video. It's probably top three of all the elder scrolls vampire videos I've seen. I love the style of narration and the inclusion of all the references such as immortal blood and the vampire nightmares. Spot on
Hunger is only realy a problum for lesser vampires Pure blood and those who have A Demi god like status on a base level such as the dragonborn will not go mad. Serana valerica and harkon realy dont need to feed ever. It can help them in serten situations but the potentsy of their own life blood can sustain them indefinetly. Valerica was traped in the soul carn for probably close to 5000years and never fed once cuzz theres nothing to feed on. Dragonborn them selfs have powerfull and potent blood even beffor becomeing a vampire. So they are prity much in the same boat as a pure blood. These 2 cases of pure blood and dragonblood are the exeption to the rule and not the norm by any means. as a side note i know people give the skyrim shit for the vigilant of stendar not attacking u in game. However i beleve its intentional. They serve stendar a god meaning htey likely have member who commune with him. U are a divine insterment a Dragonborn vampire or not. i beleve they are told To stay their hand agienst u unless its nessisary to fight. The dragonborn is honor bound to keep evil forever at bay. And dipending on ur interpritation of that u may become a vampire to do just that.
Therefore always keep some garlic bread in your inventory. Garlic bread heals vampirism in its early stages. What does it matter that the locals think you are a garlic loving breton, you are vampirism free!
Does anyone else find it kind of weird that you can feed from someone without waking them up? That doesn't even make sense. I know if someone pierced my neck I would wake up pretty fast
All the horror in the games is somewhat negated by the shrinking of the maps almost everywhere you can just with a Brisk walk get to the nearest town at get a blessing.
I realy think a elderscroll game that realy focuses on Vampires could be great.
Just take one City make it its canonical sice than dot some towns around it.
Than just a low stakes Story. Peopel in the outer edges of the Thifedom disappear and return as blood crazed Vampires. The Player from the start can choose to be a vampire or a Hunter. Fasttravel location are fixed and you need to travel to the waypoint. Which get shut Dow or activated if your fraction looses ir gains controll. So if you play as a hunter beeing in an lost part will requier more Prepration to Not become a vampire. And vampires have a Problem finding hidingspots for daytime.
As a Vampire you are the fledling lord You hunt bandits and others turn then to vampires or Undead until you can conquer towns an spread your vampiric influenc. In the end you besieg the City break througth and kill the Population until the imperial legion Shows up and ends your reign.
As a hunter you try to convince peopel to quarantine in the City or kill them to stop the spread and cut the vampires off. while also try to stop vampiric corruption in the city themselfs. In the end the City is besiegen and how many citizens die is determint in how Well the defenses are prepared and how much damage you inflicted on the vampires. In the worse case Szenario you PC dies defending the Temple of Arkay while the Imperial army counterattacks the vampires.
Make this an 4 hour campange and you have a great gameplayloop. Dosent even need two endings.
Just one Montage with sligth diffrenc if you PC killed the enemy hero or Not and if they died or Not. Abd a screen that gives you a score of how much the Population was destroyed abd how much corruption was spread.
I realy say it dosent need something fancy just focus and a nice gameplay loop
If only Bethesda's gameplay could live up to their lore I might take this video more seriously, but let's be honest, most of these words are just that, words. A vampire doesn't actually need to feed. It also doesn't have to bite to pass the disease, doing so most often through the use of blood magic. And as powerful as they think they are, their true curse is hubris. Even the basic magics and weapons wielded by 2 or 3 of the Vigilants of Stendarr can best most of them.
Honestly the Volkihar in Dawnguard were disappointing, none of the unique possibilities that were hinted at in Immortal Blood and the vampire lord transformation was underwhelming, visually a knockoff of the underworld movies and in terms of game play not particularly interesting and lacking in a vampire feel.

this is why i always carry garlic bread
You make us sound like the bad guys. Vampires can be heroes too.
I feel like sanguine could easily be the creator of vampires and werewolves too
Listening to the intro story, all I could think was "If only they could find a hawk feather to eat…" 🤔
gotta do werewolves next
This really makes me wanna make a undead hunter like a Merida champion build as a redguard or something lol
In eso we see how Lamae came to be while it is no excuse for her later actions its so terribly sad and why she is the way she is understandable.
I'm more of a werewolf kind of guy

Vampires in lore: 😈
Vampires in game: 🥺
Skyrim, or Elder Scrolls as a whole, is not a scary game. But the lore implication can be quite dark and disturbing

Wish they would do an entire zone with the gothic type classic monster schtick.
Ala Ravenloft, Darkshire etc.
Oblivion did vampires better my best character was a Breton vampire who was basically a magic god
If so scary, why cut in half by sword?
