This adorable little 10 week old darling was found in a backyard about half a kilometre as the bat flies from the colony at Wolli Creek; he was hanging on a very spiky cactus and contemplating his predicament without enthusiasm, but he was still outraged at being kidnapped by a furless giant and taken away.
In care, he has been quite squidgy and very light on the urine (total desert), however he peed on day 2 and thereafter returned to desert status, until I found he was stashing it somewhere (I found dried up pee stains on the towel in the corners of the incubator ). Sneaky biter; sneaky pee-er.
On day 3 he was up to hanging on THE Dressing gown, then in a small cage I set up for him on the teatmaking table. HE started to self feed and thereafter there was no stopping his progress.
Maggie came over on day 4 to enjoy his antics and entice the pee out of him, and as usual he peed copiously for her pee magnetism superpower.
YAY, I love survivors.
Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for our batties. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

Mention Megabattie or Meg in the PayPal message box and the money will find its way to me.
If no message box appears, please email Jenny to tell her that the money is for me.
IMPORTANT: If you pay through the PayPal Giving Fund, can you please email Jenny with the AMOUNT DONATED and the name under which you have donated, OR just forward along the PP receipt.
The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.
Here’s Jenny’s email.

You two epitomise the best type of Aussie Women.
I was holding out hope for Gosling- sneaky little devil! Now he’s hungry and all! I love the “Hey, I’m working on it!” look they give when they start working on crushing something. 😊 Silly baby goose!
❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧
I doted the entire video… Gosling is absolutely mesmerizing. Maggie didn't get a side swipe it seems. Meg did you tell her his ''endearment' nickname? Guess he bit the grapes instead🤣.
Here she comes(Maggie) and Gosling pees!!! Great!!! Maggie is a good therapy for baby bats:conversation, cuddles and the magnet works!! LOL
The Bat-Ladies have such sweet and soothing voices.
No wonder the batties and the rest of us love them so!
Plus, they are such snappy dressers.
Yay! He's doing great! Thank you ladies. Xxxx
Of course….Maggie is able to bring out the pee in Gosling! He is staring into Maggie's eyes while he eats! Yah….he is looking good!😇❤️🖤🦇🖤❤️
Gutsy Gosling goes like a bat outa hell now! 🎉
Yay! I'm sooooo excited!!
Little Batman is so cute, and you have a heart of gold and take such good care of him, which one cannot thank you enough for.
Thank goodness (and Meg and Maggie and all the carers) for the amazing work they do. After watching footage of the horrific fires in California, I so needed some good news. Sending hugs, kisses and all my love from Texas, Shari
Maggie's magical touch works again!
Having a wild animal trusting you so much, to fall asleep on you is …..profound.
Meg you always know what every baby battle needs!! It’s so sweet to see Maggie too! I love the banter between you too. ❤❤
ps I wish someone would make a phone with smell technology so that we could smell those adorable little darlings.
One day I will go there and my dream will come true!
In the USA we call those coozies.
The commentary! 😆😆😆 So Aussie. Love it. I live near a flying fox colony and they are just delightful.
So incredibly cute.
