My grandfather had been in Budapest for much of 1944 but escaped on Christmas Eve right as the Soviets closed their encirclement on the city. From my understanding he returned to Berlin briefly to deal with some logistics there before crossing back into Austria, where he was from originally. I never met him but apparently he was distraught by the state of the city even at that stage, by what Allied bombings had done to it since he was last there. He never saw Berlin again after that 💔 RIP abuelo
Neither Berlin or any part of Third Reich was liberated. They were conquered.

Hilarious and hypocritical that you show footage of the charred corpse of Joseph Goebbels and those of his poisoned children, but blur out (according to the narration) dead animals at the Berlin zoo? How are other generations supposed to know the truth, if you sanitize it? Just stop it. Seriously.
Imagine thinking the Nazis were the most evil regime to ever existed. Unfortunately the Nazis were not the most brutal regime ever. The Monguls and Genghis Khan were the most evil people ever. The monguls of Lenin , Trotsky and Stalin were the cheaper version of Genghis Khan. The Europeans, especially England, France, Belgium, Italy had the most successful killing machines ever recorded on Earth. What made it so successful they used God to murder tens of millions of natives , Africans, Asians and even Jews.
The women of Berlin ages 8 to 80 paid a terrible price when the Soviet beasts took Berlin!
