Trying to purchase a color analysis on your website, but it says it’s sold out.
In the eighties, I was Spring with Teal eyes, brown/reddish hair and pale skin. Now I'm Clear Winter with white hair, clear blue eyes and pale skin with what I call patina or pale aging skin😊
The orange color of the palm could be a sign of non good coversion of beta-carotene into vitamin A.
So, it is not always a sign of warm tone.
Once I quit veganism my skin got much warmer
Agree! I am barely new to this topic. It all started last year when I decided on stop dyeing my hair. I used to look good in my soft summer colors. But now they grey me out and I look dull. I feel like I shifted to a lighter summer palette, which makes me look more radiant. I have neutral, light, cool skin tone.
My aunt (who I think became a winter) started out with blonde hair and blue eyes. When she was about 7 her hair went brown and so did her eyes. Personally, I am a light Soft Summer. My hair used to have more red in it (ashy strawberry blonde), and I used to play in the sun a lot, which gave a golden glow to my skin. But I don't think I was ever a warm season, because I remember looking at my skin sometimes and it was usually cool looking. My eyes were so dark (some kind of blue mixture) that my mother said they were black one time. Now you can see the colors better–a grey-blue with teal near the pupil. I don't think my season has ever changed–just the intensity.
I had my season done in South Korea in 1985 and I was told I was an Autumn. I may have been, but I really think it would have been more accurate to find me a spring. I'm now most certainly a spring — not entirely clear from there — but I was either misdiagnosed or I changed seasons when I went from a red-leaning golden blonde to a lighter blonde.
My season hasn't changed yet but gray is coming in and I can see how it will be changing
Yes, Summer colors look better on me. I had dark hair with fair skin and brown/green hazel eyes. Now, I'm white haired, fair skinned and have greenish/brown hazel eyes.
Had to laugh when I looked in the mirror. I'm letting my white hair grow in and I saw a black hair front and center! That doggone black hair upset me as much as the first white hair I got. Think I'll pluck it.
My hairs been getting darker and darker and the white streaks are really growing in. I also don’t tan religiously anymore so my contrast is so much higher than it ever was before. I used to be an autumn but now I have enough contrast to be a winter except my skin tone is still warm
Warm Spring/Autumn here & I have noticed that my skin is less peaches & cream & is now a little rosier ( I also developed rosacea in my 40s) I can wear more pinks now but they still can't be too pale or cool, corals are probably my best pink/red. Mauves that aren't too grey or desaturated can work too but coral is still best. My eyes are definitely greyer but still have a golden amber ring around the pupil. They usually read as olive since the grey-blue mixes with amber. But yeah, everything loses pigment – hair, eyes & skin (plus your skin gets thinner & more transparent-especially if you are fair- making you look cooler) I will wear a warm ivory or creamy beige foundation. Pink toned foundations make me look greyer, peach toned works better. I color my hair my natural dark warm blonde shade to cover grey. And it's definitely less tawny than it used to be 😢
Hi from England. You nailed it when you said about not feeling you look quite as good… I have aged and I have put on weight but although that has contributed to the feeling, and I have had to have some facial surgery, which also doesn't help, but I've been checking my colours a lot lately and they don't seem to be cutting the mustard!
Back in the early 80s I had my colour done by Colour me Beautiful. I was told I was a summer but I was also given a few autumn colours that I could wear. Back then they didn't divide the seasons up any further than the four seasons. Looking at the divisions now I assumed that I was a soft summer as my colours flowed into soft autumn.
I did one of these taking a photo and AI tells you your skin tone. It told me I am a light summer … You make me feel that this could be likely? A change from one end of the summer spectrum to the other.
Can you comment?
My hand skin tone is just between Lucinda's and Sarah's. A few years ago it was close (but lighter) than Sarah's. So do I go with universal colors for now with some from SSu that "go". Eyes that were fully green are now grey-green. Hair is in middle of greying.
My palms are red on grayish white. I can see that undertone overtone distinction people talk about.
My palette does swing a little bit seasonally. Summer time my skin gets more color and my hair is a little lighter so my contrast goes down. In the winter my hair gets deeper and my skin goes more fair so I lean towards that deep soft summer/soft winter range. I wouldn't be surprised if more people flip contrast levels. This sounds maddening for springs lol
This is the very reason that I changed my hair and clothing recently. Thank you for this video!😃❤️
Lucinda, The lip with your top is genius.
Can you become more warm in skintone as you age or does skin usually become cooler because of loss of melanocytes?
I’m in this predicament. I have light medium olive skin and blue/tealgreen/grey eyes. I used to have very dark ash brown hair. Now my hair is white and silver with near black streaks. I used to be a winter, but now…I just can’t figure it out. Things don’t look the same.
Color palettes do not change from warm to cool or vice versa.
As you age, you may find that different colors in your palette suit you more or less than they once did, but a Winter will not turn into a Spring.
If you suddenly discover they have changed, you were not correctly assessed initially.
Love Lucinda’s shirt where did you get that? ❤
I think telling people to dye their hair to match their perceived season is ridiculous. I think you should embrace your true hair colour.
Could an Autumn change to Soft Winter?
To me it shows that Lucinda could use more even Winter colors. More contrast.
I think you can shift within your season because you soften as you age or you may have more contrast if your hair is brighter as it loses color. But your cool or warm undertones do not change.
I strongly believe that nature does not make a mistake. For me, I would never change my hair color to match my skin. I started as a Spring, and now a warm Spring. My skin tone is still bright enough to be Spring, still peachy enough to be warm, but my hair is now golden blond/warm gray, not the light copper red it was in my 20's through 40's. I am now leaning more toward the lighter Autumn colors, not the bright, intense Spring colors. I would not let anyone try to convince me that I need to put the red back in my hair to match the warmth of my skin.
Emilia Clarke is a soft summer! With pale olive skin (she has Indian gram-parents tgt can explain how she has it ) it’s very settled like angelina jolie olive skin and lily colins both have different shades of Olive undertones but they are all olive undertones, Emilia is the same but when she wears the daenarys wig and change the makeup she looks more like a light spring or light summer…. So definitely if u dye your hair the colors will change bc the hair is reflective on the face features! If u give to someone to analyze daenarys coloring telling them she is a natural blonde they will categorize her as light Sumer or spring but u tell them she is a natural brunette and give them the brunette pictures she is a soft summer! If even the professionals can spot the difference the hair makes is bc it does have a difference! It’s literally the frame of the face! She will always be neutral olive undertone so she will probably not be categorized as a winter if she dyes her hair black but definitely she fluctuate between soft summer light summer and soft/ligth spring wen she put the wig on! When I say thins ppl and professional get mad 😂 I feel nice to see u guys acknowledging that color pallet is not set in stone like some professionals say now days
I’m really confused. I don’t use any face makeup apart from concealer under my eyes and that’s a cool. I am very fair, have always had chestnut brown warm hair and now at forty I ahbe a few white hairs. Very warm beiges and camels can make me look ill and I suit black. I have medium to dark green eyes and that has not changed. Maybe I am a Bright Winter.
What about anemia? You ladies are absolutely right! If you are ill and have less red blood cells and it will give you a pail grayish appearance. Unknown to me I was anemic when I was typed. Also, there is a popular color analysis company out there that insists that your seasons never changed because they try to tie it to spiritual. I wish I would have known that ahead of time cause I would have gone with someone else. Lesson learned and do your research beforehand.
Undertone doesn't change, but overtone can change a lot imo.
My sister and I both went from cool seasons, she used to be a cool summer I used to be a cool winter. We both went from cool to soft. Warmer and muted. She's now a soft summer that borrows from soft autumn. I'm a deep winter that borrows from dark autumn. Hair color doesn't affect this, as we have both gone through phases of dying our hair or letting it be grey. We are in our sixties. 😊😊
I read Colour Me Beautiful 40 years ago. Things have changed a lot. 😅
Meh. My palm is the same color as Lucinda's and I'm still a Soft Autumn. Take a look at Kiernan Shipka in Sabrina. She's a Dark Autumn naturally but wears her hair platinum blonde with her very dark eyes, and bright teal is still her best color because it's a great color on Dark Autumns. I know you guys think hair is everything, but it changes too much to be everything.
I’m actually glad to hear your colors can change. I’ve had my colors done professionally three time throughout my 72 years of life. They’ve come out different each time. I had attributed it to the artistic eye and color system used of each of the analysts. My first two were done in my thirties/ forties. The last one was done in my late 60s. While the general trend (warm) was the same, the last one I had done was more soft because of my skin being more “sallow” and my eyes less pigmented (hazel). Very interesting!
Even when we are anemic or have some sickness we can change too :')
As you age, your skin gets thinner, too. I often thought "undertone" was skin depth. Very ruddy people have very thin skin.
have you ever made a video on olive skin
Sara, when you say you put “warm drops” in your foundation, what does that mean?? Do you just add warm drops of foundation to your neutral foundation?? Or is there a specific product you use to enhance your foundation color?
(Both of you have stunningly beautiful skin, by the way!!!)
I had my colors done in the 1980s with BFAS – True Sunlit Spring. Now in my 60s, I am more faded. When I get foundation matches, it’s no longer “warm”. It’s neutral. I no longer wear brown or orange lipsticks. Rose or raspberry look best. I’m still a medium reddish blonde but with chunks of white. My eyes were always blue-grey. Maybe the iris ring is a little lighter? I tend to wear more texture now to mimic my wavy curly hair and light age spots/freckle mix.
It would be great to see you two doing colour analysis on a model maybe on subscribers!
