Kimbo Slice was the first internet addiction I had. I couldn't wait for the uploads of the latest backyard brawl. I was obsessed. Something about Kimbo was mesmerizing. He impacted my life. RIP Kimbo, we miss you.

I think Mike knew Kimbo could make more money if he stuck to promoting himself online and doing his own thing instead of going pro. Like, kimbo could of started a podcast and what not and probably made out better for himself than he did in the UFC. If we're honest, kimbo wasn't on the same level as the majority of professional fighters. He probably could of made more money on YT and other digital media tbh. If he was still alive, bro would have so many opportunities
Kimbo was my hero and the reason I got into combat sports. Dude was a massive legend. One of the few times I was honestly sad about a famous dying was when Kimbo passed.

I was an MMA fan and practitioner of BJJ and boxing, and I remember when akimbo came around all of these acquaintances who didn’t follow MMA or know anything about it all wanted to talk about Kimbo Slice. I just had to roll my eyes and be polite.

You are only valuable to a business while they money off you and the public while you entertain them. The shelf life of good fighters is 7 years, great fighters is 10 years.
If you are in your teens and early 20s thinking you are a god, you are a no one to the corporations and public in 10 years. Respect yourself and your body, fight like you don't care, train like you do. No one will take care of you are care about you when those gloves hang up. Play the role hard, train smart. Heart and brain trauma are dead serious in this business.

Kimbo lived in my neighborhood after he was famous. Every time I ran into him he always wanted to talk about his kids schooling, what college they were in and their majors etc. Not what I expected TBH:

Kimbo Slice was trash in the UFC ! He was a legend in the streets but notbin ufc… plus he was also trash in Bellator… vs Dada 5000 was the most stupid fight ever
I think Kimbo would’ve gone further in his career in MMA had he started training MMA 10yrs earlier. Was a privilege watching him go from back yards to UFC.
Edit: I remember as the face off with Seth was going on I was clowning him for his pink her and jokingly said “watch this pink haired dude finish Kimbo” and man what happened we were shook. We were already MMA fans but we weren’t expecting Kimbo to get finished like that and that fast.
