The people in the comments that say its not a bad area are the people that live in the nice parts of Bristol, have never broken the law, and are so far away from the streets they wouldn't have a clue what really goes on in the hoods.
Every city and large town in Britain has this, it's no different to anywhere else. You go looking for it,in certain areas and circles you find it. It doesn't mean the rest of city town and area is shit. It can still be a good place too.

Bristol probably is nicer than most cities in England but like every city it has 'hood areas, with St Pauls & Easton probably the most known ones there.
Some of the places around Glasgow and the west of Scotland are as grimey as the UK gets, but If you really want to see how ghetto a city in England can really get, go up to Liverpool, Hull or Middlesbrough.

ive lived in Bristol all my life, im 69, its now a shit hole. to many gangs doing stupid stuff. just recently a white man and his son and 3 blacks who were gang members from hartcliffe stabbed and killed 2 young white teenagers in knowle west. they now serving life in prison. my 11yr old grandson thinks hartcliffe gangs are cool. its disgusting that he is getting this mentality at his age. im scared for him and my other 2 grandkids. its so bad now.
Fishponds ain't a good place to live! The beef between Bs13 and bs4 is the worst I've seen a dim in BS13. They call themselves one threes. My son who is 11 calls himself YB13 how do you snap it out o these kids
