  1. Elites work well when you pair them up with trash to take the brunt of the damage. 4 b1 squads + elite is better than 5 elites. Also, the CIS is built for wave combat. 1 squad dies, You should have several lined up to take its place while pulling back your elites if they take too much heat. I don’t know that’s just my tactics. Just use more, I noticed that lots of time to drop one B1 platoon and then call in everything else. Churning out b2’s and b1s is the cis military dogma.

  2. 20:13 I mean you're playing a faction of heartless droids who are designed to use swarm tactics. The reason the devs made that the most effective way is because the CIS uses spam units. I do think that on offensive battles the Confederacy needs a higher pop cap than the Republic potentially, especially on the ground so that you can also show off your elite units and because they tended to have larger armies but it's not wrong for spam to be the main way to win since it was the CIS's main way of achieving victory cause their units were trash. Quite crassly, if you wanted good units, play the Republic.

Edit: to be perhaps a little clearer, the B1 is a cannon fodder unit to be sent in to die while your other units are in the back beating the crap out of the enemy. Admittedly some units aren't as strong as they should be but you can still use other units than just B1s

  3. If I had to say, the bombing run is meant to be a "Crowd Control" Ability… (This is my theory based on how deadly/effective Overseer's bombing run were during his invasion of Umbara)

  4. Already nearing the end of my campaign, just doing planetary clean up now as Coruscant has fallen. Multiple Jedi are dead and the Republic is pretty much gone. Gonna have to turn to Democracy soon….ugh

  5. 34:45 But you gotta admit, we've made B1 spam a viable tactic at all points of the game.
Also: If you want better attrition ratios on ground, use little infantry and many vehicles: Octuptarra Magnas in the front and J1s in the back to support is a nice AV combo. The small Spider Droids are also pretty good against light vehicles, and Snail Tanks are expert against infantry (especially the hero elite ones). BX on the other hand are completely unstunnable, high dps frontliners.

  6. I think it really depends on the mod, I like to believe that the HMP can be abused when grouped, at least in FoTR they work well against infantry (and most armoured targets actually), but you actually need to kite and repair them (which is easy in FoTR).
I agree on not liking big vehicles that have worse firing range or view range than infantry (unless it is actually lore accurate), it just feels like a weird mechanic half of the time.

  7. Man is dissing the CIS ground roster, snail tanks are your friends, B2s are your friends, OG-9s are your friends, droidekas are your friends. USE TACTICAL DROIDS!

Don’t charge into frontal assaults, but it is entertaining. Hopefully that gives you a little hint. I like the CIS ground roster more than the republic one.

  8. i think for the most part i would be okay with the CIS ground units being so trash if they were way cheaper and took less pop cap. also quick side tip, if you want you can stack AUT-0 and trench and they both will give insane bonuses, making a perfect providence fleet

  9. Captain Ardynn's log #4 over Muunilnist aboard the Providence Star Cruiser, "Free Trade."

    My log today is…late.

I had family matters to attend to, my Wife and Children have come to visit. I advised against it, but they have of coursed ignored me. Not that im displeased by their presence, only worried. The war has only become more brutal, and my legs hurt from standing here and doing nothing.

I fully believe that the Northern fleet is ready to take on our neighboring planets to the east. We are ready, I only need the orders and I will lead the fleet into battle. I wish to make a name for myself and get into High Admiral Starry's circle.

I plead, Admiral Starry, allow me to fight for the Confederacy, Give me this chance and i will prove to you that your decision will not be a bad one.

  10. Welll…..I took Grievous’s advice to heart from the Revenge of the Sith Novelization and only use B2’s and droideka’s…..and I’ve only won my battles so far. So maybe stop B1 spamming and go B2 spamming?
