How likely is an eruption of the Yellowstone Supervolcano in the USA? Researchers who interpret early warning signs predict an eruption. A huge magma chamber lies dormant beneath the Earthโs crust. An eruption would have catastrophic consequences.
If an eruption does occur, itโll be a race against time. So, with the help of modern measuring techniques, researchers are seeking to identify early warning signs. If they can better understand the processes taking place inside the Earth, itโll help them predict an eruption. This, in turn, would allow affected areas to be evacuated in time.
In the past 2.1 million years, the Yellowstone Supervolcano has erupted three times โ most recently, some 600,000 years ago. The next eruption could be due soon.

Better than a video, find a college geology field trip or a geology field guide and a geological map and go look at the local stuff where you live. I joined a field trip where the leader was a PhD and we visited the San Andreas fault over three summers.
In this video, we viewers are mostly at great distance and we viewers only get 5 seconds dwell time from the camera.
Regarding the explosive menace described, I ask, how could I assemble a food and water kit to help with the possible disruptions of a major geological event? How about one month of food, water, propane and warm clothes?

The Yellowstone caldera is not showing any signs of an imminent eruption, and DW are irresponsible for giving the impression of anything else, especially just to get clicks.

If that went off thereโs absolutely nothing anyone could do, even evacuation probably wouldnโt help as the ash cloud would follow wind patterns and circle the earth . Maybe the southern hemisphere might survive but there would be some change.
