So by mapping the journey by the books discription's you can match up the hill and canyon that they talked about passing,but that's all under sea now ,So it's obvious that the sea wasn't always where it was ,Wait till the earth completes its rotation on its axis and my guesses is we be underwater and the wet lands become the dry lands again unearthing more lost structures.

USA has history of placing under ground listening devices throughout the ocean. Could it be something the military has installed? Or could it be a listening/monitoring device placed by one of our adversaries?

As odd as it might sound, these are not the first set of tracks found in the depth of our oceans, and if aliens are always a favorite for the unexplained, Im gonna throw a diffrent hypothesis at you: an hidden civilization living inside the earth, owners of all that technology we regard as alien, all the ufos, usos etc.. are in reality theirs. I personally rather think of it this way, I find it far more fascinating than aliens from outer space.
