  1. You can turn off the blinking in the Situation log btw. You might want to consider releasing the two conquered sectors as Prospector vassals. You're economy might thank you. Edit 2 you can build the hyper relays from the galaxy map by right clicking on a solar system, should be in the menu that pops up. Then you can shift click a chain of them around.

If anyone is confused by the wild economy swings, Quill is conquering hive-mind worlds right now; those pops purge extremely fast, they basically die when cut off from their empire, and he's also set his purging to force the pops out of his space where the only place they can be refugees to is his enemy. So he'll take a station that is packed, max pops, and then a few months later it will be almost (or even completely!) empty. It gets even worse when he recolonizes, because there's an active 'developing colony' phase that each colony goes through where it takes a bunch of energy, to balance the free pops you get from starting a new colony.
