  1. Crack down BS – Task force BS – there was so many illegal fireworks and no police ANYWHERE!!! You can buy illegal fireworks in Hawaii no body cares. You can see the illegal fireworks going off but you just can't see the person or know the names of who is setting it off that the police needs if you report it. Fireworks has been going off since Thanksgiving and today new years day it's still being popped. It's just gotten so out of control – there's a reason why it's illegal fireworks cause it is very dangerous. Who would even think you would be killed by fireworks on new years eve.

  2. As a visitor, I'm disgusted with the war zone I witnessed last night. Hundreds of containers of illegal fireworks must be coming through the port. US Customs inspects and releases all of these containers. There is huge underworld money in these explosives. The dirty business couldn't happen without complicit officials. This is a problem that the leaders don't want to solve.

  3. 4 dead and more likely to follow. More than 22 people dead and/or seriously injured. This is not just a tragedy. This is a disaster with mass casualties. There was brain matter on cars and the side of a house. There were limbs lost in another area as well. This can and should be prevented.

  5. As usual, one idiot ruins it for everyone. Of course, the power-mongering governor wants the authority to charge people with felonies for fireworks… no one is allowed to have fun anymore. Listen to your masters. Obey.

  6. Hawaii is corrupt from the top to the bottom and has been since the monarchy. Kickbacks, payoffs, side deals, corrupt leaders, corrupt law enforcement, corrupt courts, insider knowledge, special preferences, nepotism and every other form of corruption exists. It's systemic and generational. Hawaii is no better than the People's Republic of China when it comes to corruption. Nothing will change from this event. It will be soon forgotten and it will be business as usual before the 4th of July.
