What i find most disturbing about these tornado chasing videos is the eerie silence before the deadly destruction.
That was brilliant when Scott sped up to get up close and personal with this thing and without all the yelling and screaming like many chasers seem to do. 10 out of 10 Scott and Haley.

I saw two separate Vortices. As it crossed the road the black funnel was in front and went on through the trees, then the trailing edge was more powerful and broke the trees like toothpicks. White pickup was super lucky he didn’t take a direct hit. Also it’s easy to see why debris from a twister can pepper you like a shotgun and kill you so easy. They say that’s what actually kills most tornado victims. You get riddled to death by what could be considered a 50 caliber machine gun.

Am I mistaken or were there 2 tornadoes side by side or was that several vorticies inside one big one? Where they crossed the road was at 2 locations it seemed like.

The main vortice seemed to get its act together just as it was going past the truck up that hill into the trees. Like a dog growling low, then BARK!
I’m a trained spotter and hobby chaser and this is absolutely incredible footage! That being said, the guy’s a damned fool for driving right into that thing! He’s lucky to be alive.

Great video but that was incredibly stupid. You don’t know how strong that storm was to just drive dead into it. I’ve followed tornadoes for over 10 years and never did I hear any professional storm chaser say let’s drive a none modified vehicle smack dead into a tornado. You can get your footage without risking your life. As even a lower end tornado can lift and flip a car. But great footage just appreciate your life way more than some video that if you die won’t be uploaded anyway.
