– No Man's Sky's comeback is genuinely unprecedented and unlike anything I've ever seen. The game keeps going above and beyond with how it keeps gifting players with incredibly robust free updates, enhancements, and content, none of it monetized. The transformation of both the game and the good will surrounding it in the last 8 years has been remarkable to witness.

"Myu-rey"? Are you suffering from a stroke?
As fun as it is to poke fun at utter failures, there’s nothing quite like redemption stories.
I have the collectors edition day one (PS4). The game was terrible. Draw distances were shockingly short. Now I'm loving it. I'm now playing it solely in VR on PSVR2, in fact, I bought a PS5 Pro just for the update that happened for NMS. The game is stunning, I love losing myself in the game for hours at a time.
Only been playing for a month, and wow, good game
This channel makes videos way longer than they need to be, feels like you stretch sentences.
“Added photo mode for the first time” should be “they added photomode”. Trim the fat.
Gonna have to jump back in to no man's sky. Interested to see the vr capabilities. Light no fire is more up my alley, hope they pull it off!
Sean Murray is the most vindicated man alive. All these updates, and the experience the team gathered with them, in the fields of procedural generation and open world, also makes me quite optimistic about Light No Fire. The project is monumental in scope, and thus failure is of course a very real possibility, but I don't think I would trust any current dev more than Hello Games to pull it off. If they can't do it, no one can.
As a former 3d artist who worked in the AAA gaming industry I will say this (pardon my french)
Game Dev is hard, most of the time the rushing is not up to the devs, but execs with shit for brains who think graphics and mechanics can magically appear, and they´re so deep up their asses that they think are above criticism and can please everyone just by following trends. I worked for as a 3d artist for games in a studio with amazing and talented people…but everyone of the higher ups are just people that don´t understand videogames, they don´t even play videogames, they just saw us as an number on a exel sheet (guess that's just capitalism for everyone) they just kept pushing us to a breakpoint, we had to rush things if we wanted to meet deadlines…and keep our jobs. Im not saying every studio is like that…but I understood a bit of what might be happening behind the courtains of other studios pushing crappy games.
A game studio is not allowed to fail, which is an almost impossible task due to the sheer amount of competition with well established franchises and studios…and even those can fail.
Is a breath of fresh air seeing games which released in a crappy state being allowed to build on top of them, allowing them to show its true potential, I´m not defending a shitty game studio trends and tactics, but…imagine if a game wasn´t doomed from the start due to dumbass decisions made by dumbasses in the higher ups.
Ok am getting it now
I started playing No Mans Sky about 4 months ago when I realized it was actually available on Nintendo Switch. I somehow didn't know until literally seeing it on the shelf at a shop. I expected a watered down version but I figured it would still be fun. So when I got home and realized it was the FULL version with an experience comparable to any of the other console versions…I was absolutely blown away. Yeah the graphics are much lower resolution and frame rate isn't as good…but it's the entire freaking NMS game on a portable console. I've been playing it as my "main game" since I got it and have yet to get bored even a little bit. I consistently find new things and gameplay mechanics I had no idea existed, the updates and expeditions are all still consistently being added (for free) and the dev "Hello Games" is so impossibly amazing that they actually responded to my "bug report" with an email from a real person to ask me a follow up question about the glitch to better help them look into it. That is just…wow. I've long been out of the "honeymoon" phase and can say with certainty that it falls in the top ten of the best games I've ever played.
This is the only game ive ever returned for a refund, guess ill give em another chance. They got a serious team at Hello Games.
On steam, played it and was lagging like crazy that I have to uninstall it. Any fix on that?
So glad i waited til October 2024 to first play. Those original players were guinea pigs…i mean….pioneers. 🙂
Sean Mierarye
For me, its the fact that everything is completely playable in PSVR2. Me after a long week of work, sitting down with a case of beers and shutting off the outside world while i fly through space listening to my favourite music. That experience is unbeatable.
I think I'll get Light No Fire on launch, which I almost never do anymore. They've made it clear that even if it does flop on launch It'll turn into something remarkable.
Nope, never forgiving them, and still never got my refund. They fucked up so bad steam changed it's policy FOR refunds and screwed us all over… It will always be one mans lie. Fuckem.
Game is shit.,.elite danderous better
I'll give it to Shawn Murray; he didn't seem satisfied and didn't give up, until the game was not only everything originally promised, but a lot more.
The way his surname is phonetically pronounced, is Mur (rhymes with Gull) ee; Mur-ee.
I think of Cyberpunk 2077 as the greatest comeback.
Murray is pronounced similar to Marry. Except the "u" is pronounced like it is in "up"
Still an empty husk a decade later and deserves no praise for being a decade past the sale date.
You are 100% right in context what about 6 1/2 years too late?
I of course, do that and I have been able to do it for seven years out of the heat. The game has been out. It’s just not likely when there’s Quillion possible planets out there. It’s very unlikely you’re ever going to run into anybody just like it is in the real universe. They are galaxy wall. It is quite unlikely we will ever run into other life form, even if we could travel amongst the solar system in our galaxy, there’s just too fucking many options. It’s like thousands of times more difficult than winning the mega million lottery, but what the fuck is the point of making a video about it now are you just start controversial content so you have to make up some controversial content Where it doesn’t actually even exist by Elder scrolls next are you gonna talk about the elder scrolls, redemption, or Final Fantasy redemption or destiny choose redemption because almost every popular day every game at the top five of the genre of their own respective genre went through the same redemption. Everyone, so are you gonna make controversial videos about all of them you’re one of the worst types of journalist someone who actually can’t go out and find news so you just make it up.

Excited for Light No Fire. Hopefully also DRM free and playable on and offline.
I love NMS now, it's pretty fun. However it's taught all the wrong lessons to the rest of the industry showing it's okay to launch in an incomplete state but they don't put in the same effort to correct the mistakes and opt to kill games rather than fix them proper.
Good god he just keeps mispronouncing Sean Murray’s name 😂
I just recently started NMS just after the Big Graphic update Worlds Part 1… I was always on the fence and watched literally every trailer since release… And what can I say…. This is the Best game ever created for me. Im already at 800h and im still Addicted! The PlayStation 5 Pro runs the game perfectly and it looks outstanding. I can recommend this game to everyone!
This company unintentionally created the new way to develop games. I know their studio got fucked with a flood and they had to start over. I get that. But now thats how every company handles their business, like theyve been hit with a flood and they just have to push the game out.
On principal i refuse to buy NMS. I also refuse to pre-order another game ever again. Thanks to them, For the last like 8 years no one has been able to push out a relatively well developed game right from the start. Just doesnt happen anymore.
