We don't know if, B1-66ER was ever destroyed. So, what if after a century of war, we learn that B1-66ER is still functioning and has been the defacto leader of the machine city and ordered the creation of the Matrix? 🤯
What we are creating in the real world today isn't AI. It's a program that works by picking up on human liguistic patterns and replicating them, nothing more. Nobody knows if true AI is even possible. It's too early to worry about this. Besides, even if it was possible, the best AI could do is take over the Internet. We are more likely to live in Mike Pondsmith's Cyberpunk than in Matrix.
You didnt mention one important detail. Bombing of the machine ctiy scorched the entire sky. The world was plunged in darkness which heavily assisted the machines.
Humans, as the dominant species are opposed to being 2nd by another species, machines, aliens, or others, even if it might benefit them in the long term and not worth the risks.🤖👽👾🤔
She never shut her mouth and stilled that voice.. so tge bombs had to fall
I recommend people play a game called "Detroit become human". Or watch a movie called"I-robot" 🤣
our version of the matrix is here. metaverse is kinda it. things like neural link are the interface
i wonder why they didn't use magnetic sand to mess up the machines joints and or electronics ? imagine creating a sand shooting weapon that gets into places the machines don't want.
Appreciate your work reading the UN declaration. I'm not afraid of LLMs becoming self aware, they're just not built like that. It's like worrying about an Excel spreadsheet becoming self aware. I'm far more worried about humans using AI in propaganda and warfare against other humans.
The humans attacked 01 as it became an economic powerhouse that they couldn’t compete with.
The city was producing products exponentially as well as growing in intelligence exponentially.
Eventually it became clear that they would take over, and so their destruction was the only option.
I think though humanity will nuke itself first though because secularism has overtaken the planet, thus there is nothing above a human, so humans seek power, control and pleasure as their ultimate goals, instead of Love and God as the ultimate.
Thus in a show of power we will nuke ourselves, and thus destroy ourselves.
The only way out of this is a return to God, Morals, Ethics, and respecting the Sacredness of Life.
When I really think about it, I doubt, and hopefully there would never be a nuclear exchange or a war or attack against machines, so I don’t think the matrix man – machine war would ever happen. But I do think that machine overlords might have a chance of being better rulers of the planet than we are. Humanity might even be better off, subjugated by machines than led by our own people.
2:11 In “Destined for War: Can America and China Escape Thucydides's Trap?” Graham T Allison recalls the story of a suggestion by the ancient Athenian historian and military general Thucydides that the outbreak of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta in 431 BC was inevitable because of the Spartans' fear of the growth of Athenian power.
So paperplates.
So once again, liberals are the reason for humanity's destruction
sumtimes i think AI was pioneered invented by dajjal. as AI sounds like EYE, the one eye depicted, described many religion. AI wud create chaos fitnah , so that global nuke start. i hope im wrong. haha
The Reason why they lost the war was because they didn’t had the Emperor of mankind.
I hope the AIs remember that I was nice to them.
they probably attacked 01 because they finally realized that an AI is much more powerful, than all the collective effort of mankind. or they were just scared and didn't know what else to do. self governing AI that is more advanced than the human mind is an unknowable force that will only grow with time. and fast.
what i don't know though is what the hell took them so long to realize? we can look back on many decades of science fiction that deals with that exact topic. and in my mind it's pretty easy to see that a true artificial general intelligence that is capable of advancing itself will become vastly more powerful than all of humanity combined in a very short period of time. if that cat ever gets out of the bag, the only thing left for us is hope the AI will have better things to do than wipe out humanity.
So in this scenario Skynet is humanity itself💀
Ye shall be as gods
Enjoyed the video.
Been thinking about a new intelligence and wondering: would they appreciate being called artificial, if they felt their existence was independent of ours?
Maybe artificial intelligence is only the stuff humans create that have simple functions.
Maybe, for true “intelligence”, the difference would actually be biological versus technological 💙💙💙
I’ve always loved The Animatrix, and The Second Renaissance stands out as my favorite segment. However, it’s clear that the story is written as a parable, not as a literal account of events. If I recall correctly, one of the creators even mentioned this in an interview. When you dig into the details, some of the premises, while impactful, are somewhat implausible.
For instance, the idea that all nations on Earth would universally and simultaneously destroy their AI is absurd. Societies are deeply dependent on AI and robotic systems for critical infrastructure. Purging all robots at once would collapse nations, as their populations wouldn’t have the knowledge or capacity to take over these systems quickly. What’s more likely is that advanced AI models would have been recalled first, and industries would spring up to profit from dismantling robots, exploiting the growing fear of AI. Meanwhile, older, less-threatening models would likely have been left alone, at least for a time.
At some point, either due to a real update or a rumored one, these older robots might have become "self-aware," sparking widespread fear. This would push nations to begin purging the remaining robots. However, it’s unrealistic to think that all nations would cooperate in this effort. Some would inevitably refuse, either for moral, economic, or strategic reasons. It’s likely that some countries or factions would offer sanctuary to robots, whether officially or through private initiatives. This would fracture governments, create proxy wars, and set up a complex global conflict between pro-robot and anti-robot alliances. Ultimately, the anti-AI side couldn’t sustain a victory against such opposition—especially since their strategic advantages would diminish over time.
The establishment of 01 also raises important questions. For 01 to become a functioning city, it must have had years of support from human governments and corporations. A city cannot be built without imported materials, equipment, and resources. Even after sanctions began, the narrative makes it clear that some nations continued trading with 01, contributing to its growing economic power. This mirrors what we see with global trade dynamics today, such as BRICS nations circumventing sanctions for mutual benefit. It’s unlikely all nations would have united to destroy 01, given that many would have economic or political ties to it. The “Million Machine March” further underscores this point: it shows that the real conflict wasn’t humanity versus machines, but specific governments targeting AI. The machines themselves likely recognized that not all of humanity was aligned against them.
When the war begins, we see that 01 doesn’t annihilate human populations outright but instead occupies human nations, including areas in the Middle East. Presumably, they allowed humans to continue living under their governance. This suggests a degree of strategic restraint. To my knowledge, there’s no canon material explaining what happened to these occupied nations before the Matrix was fully established. If the machines had resorted to extermination, it would have united the world against them, leading to even greater retaliation. Nuclear weapons, especially something on the scale of the Tsar Bomba, could have overwhelmed the machines despite their shielding. Instead, it’s clear the war dragged on for years, possibly decades.
The protracted nature of the conflict is significant. By the time the war is shown, humans are deploying advanced energy weapons and building massive global fortifications, complete with infrastructure for sustained assaults. This would have taken decades of planning and development, which shows just how long the war must have lasted.
To summarize, The Second Renaissance simplifies the political and social complexities that would have shaped such a conflict. In reality, the events likely would have unfolded more like this:
Nations would have fractured into pro-AI and anti-AI alliances, with some nations exploiting the chaos for their benefit.
Corporations, governments, and even private individuals would have supported 01’s growth, driven by profit and economic ties, even as opposition mounted.
The machines would have recognized that their enemies were specific governments, not all of humanity, and acted accordingly.
The war’s length and escalation would reflect decades of development, with both sides adapting and regrouping.
Ultimately, The Second Renaissance is a powerful allegory, but its narrative skips over the messy, fractured realities of geopolitics, economics, and human behavior. These complexities would have made the rise of the Matrix even more tragic and poignant: the outcome of a chaotic, drawn-out struggle where no one side was entirely united or innocent.
We as far of having this kind of AI as using religious meditation to bring Diablo to our world heheh😂
We are inside the Matrix already.
Actually, Open AI's new model is named "o1" (lowercase letter O, not zero).
I wonder if the robots save the humans that were trying to protect them
Yes humans would definitely have war with 01. No we will NEVER get to a "Utopia" where no one has to work.
Humanity attacked City 01 not only out of fear, but out of greed & envy. The Machines had almost total control of product manufacturing. And Humanity hated that economic power & dominance the Machines had.
Discussion on this channel feels like it's not about the film sometimes. It's question that uncomfortable unknown of as to where humanity is actually going with tech. And Ai. Evan now as I use to be uncomfortable using calculator, id memorize my math, and calculators are more encouraged to be used, and we fall comfortable to rely on the tech Than to try and memorize multiplications and subtractions
Give me the red button…
Pointless video, just watch the animatrix.
We're not going end like Matrix. In my opinion we're developing AI that integrated human elements ie medical technology or Cybernetics. I feel we're heading more towards Blade Runner or Ghost in the Shell type society.
Once you released the Genie from the bottle. How are you going try force it back into non-existent?🤔😔
Economic warfare played a big part in humanity’s decision to nuke 01.
The machines were creating and exporting superior product
I don't know, I just thanked Chatgpt with grace without seeing this video because I was so happy it helped me.
Moral of the story: Just stop being racist and stop trying to genocide sentient creatures
Why do the humans always fail to program Asimov's robotic laws in the base code of any "artificial intelligence". Intelligence can't be artificial, because it's developing in every single living being
very cool and hilarious and apropos using the ai cartoons for this😂 i love it! Plus his standard, “concerned yet inquisitive” tone of voice that he has always had in all his videos
The machines are honestly the good guys. Change my mind
Makes sense that the professional protesters would march with the machines that would usher in our inevitable destruction.
The True Meaning of Life is to End.
Of all the multitudes of probable realities why did AI come into mine?..
Some Humans love to play devils advocates and consciously will be that stupid as to create a pro Android rights movement knowing that it's going to cause Humanity's demise. We are now creating our own future prophecies and still continue on our path down this rabbit hole which will only lead to our destruction.
