I suspect that in the future we will have nuralink, Tesla, and SpaceX to thank for the mars project. It would be my guess that Elon uses Nuralink to provide an interface between humans and Optimus robots that allows people to fly the robot like a drone. Because of latency issues SpaceX will have to set up a starlink system above Mars and build a space station in orbit from which to house the people operating the robots. We could use them to build our cities on the surface and then et viola we are multi planetary. He is making advances so quickly that this could happen within the lifetime of people watching this video the day it was released.
It would be amazing if Elon decided that Elon was the ruler of Mars. He could set up an empire and then turn it into a constitutional republic when he dies. Due to the financial input he is making it is only right that he controls it until he dies but after that I suspect he will turn it over to humanity as his gift to the species which is what he said he wanted to do when he started this crazy adventure.
