You didn't search the greenhouse location thoroughly, there is the story room that you can access and without accessing it the next story location won't open, limiting your progress. (some progress can be made but you will reach a bottleneck soon) I have played the original game several times, after each update, and so far I like the changes that I have seen (starting with the extractor and backpack crafting). Still need to play the game to see how well things fit together.
