Anno 1800 is a city building real-time strategy video game, developed by Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft, and is set to be launched within April 2019.

It is the seventh game in the Anno series, and returns to the use of a historical setting following the last two titles, Anno 2070 and Anno 2205, taking place during the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century.

Following the previous installment, the game returns to the series’ traditional city-building and ocean combat mechanics, but introduces new aspects of gameplay, such as tourism, “blue-printing”, and the effects of industrialisation influences on island inhabitants.

And if you’re interested in more Anno – I’ve played all the other games in the series!

  1. The is designed around the Newspaper. You could build up the New World. But then you are in the same boat. More tax. More ports to defend. More ships to have. Again, this is a money pit. If you wiped the enemies of the map, you'd actually lose the game. There would be no free money for you to get. Again, you are lucky the AI is brain dead. All they have to do it destroy all your supply isles. Not build any free money islands and they could watch you slow bleed to death. There would be nothing you could do about it. You kill the enemies off you lose. You don't kill them you lose. You are in a no-win game if the AI was any good. Or if they just stopped build free money Island you'd lose. Then buy shares of your island. You'd have no money to buy them back. It would be an ugly death. So, it's great the AI is brain dead:)

  2. I would suggest you remodel industry zone to electrify your high maintenance buildings, and also add trade union. Lot of maintenance costs can be reduced. Maybe even think about commute pier and shifting worker population to get more artisans and engineers here in sleepy hollow. New world population also pays lot of tax for simple industries you can increase the population there as well. Waiting to see you positive economy soon.

  3. Essentially, the first thousand or so residents of a tier that you add to your city don't induce any royal taxes. After that, for each dollar you earn from an increasingly large resident tier, a percentage goes to royal taxes.
That percentage increases as you push to higher populations values. It starts at functionally 0% but I've seen the marginal rate be 50%, meaning that for every $100 of new income expanding an already large resident tier, $50 goes to royal taxes. When you factor in the cost of manufacturing the goods (typically 25%-50% of the income the good provides), the royal taxes really kills your marginal income for adding more houses.

At least up to the artisan tier, the royal taxes seem to kick in at around a population of 1000. Additionally, royal taxes apply on a PER ISLAND basis. Meaning, if you start a second city, it's farmers will not pay any royal taxes until you get about 1000 on that island.

  4. I think you should make a stable population without any workforce missing, sometimes it makes you think you are undeproducing but you're just missing workforce. Once that it's stable you should check each one of your production chains to make sure it's up and running like it should be, also brick your roads and make sure hospitals have the range the faster they heal the faster you get your workforce back.

  5. Just loving this series!! I would have never thought that deleting so many businesses would make such a difference in money but it did for at least a little bit! Great job and keep it up!! I look forward to the next one🤩

  6. Great series! It was so satisfying watching you deleting (optimizing) factories because of electricity.
I think you should invest in some flame throwers around your main island and cutting of pirate, pretty much in his corner there and just controlling him that way…
Also in Sleepy Hollow, push them out into the ocean as far as possible 😉
    I'm really going to miss Anno1800 🥲
