I remember earlier in the Tour Phil saying he thought WvA could win the GC in the future and Bob literally laughing him out. Oh how things have changed.
Not in 52yrs? But Armstrong and Ulrich both took turns waiting for one another through the years.

Is it me or the use of word peloton used so much now. Ever since the company came out. Or did company pay for broadcasters to say it. Re watch some old tour de france and hardly seen the word used or shown.

The sportsmanship and good form between Vingegaard and Pogacar has me almost in tears. I've never seen a better display of competitive comradery in our sport. Cyclists the world round are better for what these two have achieved, beyond the battle for the Yellow Jersey.

Seeing Tadej drop his head after crossing the finish line – disappointed in himself for "failing" in spite of being one of the greatest cyclists alive, it's all about perspective.
As a non cyclist I understand the respect aspect of waiting for someone when they crash/mechanical. I do not however understand waiting for a rider who crashed only because he was knowingly taking risks and trying to descend faster than his ability.
Isn’t it perfectly acceptable to ride away when a rider crashes due to his own dangerous riding?
Even if he shouldn’t have you still have to give props to him for waiting up – even if he was more than justified in riding on.

I'm going out on a limb, to guess Bob's eyes have been opened (as many of us) to the outstanding talents he's developed?..
Will be wicked to see Tadej, Jonas and WVA leading separate teams some year.
I'm starting to agree with Thaddeus (and some others) that WVA might be a GC contender in a GT. He probably needs to shed 3 or 4 kg (in the right ways and body parts), but an interesting test could be Jumbo going with WVA in this year's Vuelta. Jonas needs a break, Primoz needs to heal, and the route seems to favor WVA, especially the flat TT. I love you (and always will), Bob, but you might start looking for a hat to eat.
On a completely different note, it's nice to see that even the pros occasionally make the butt-puckering mistake that Jonas makes at 29:15 by leaning his bike over a little too much and beginning to pedal through that fun little transition between the end of a banked turn and the flattening exit. Inside pedal kissing ground = potential disaster. I'm so glad he didn't high side his way into the ditch.
I would rather watch the Giro or Vuelta.
