SKY PRINCESS REVIEW & GOOD FOOD SHOW AT SEA (For Foodies!)

What’s up guys, it’s KK here the Krazy Korean and today I want to share my honest review of the SKY Princess Cruise.

The SKY Princess is a Royal-Class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises which is a division of Carnival Corporation. Carnival is the largest cruise company in the world in terms of both revenue and fleet size with over 90 ships across its brands.
The SKY Princess launched in October 2019 and includes a blend of modern design and luxurious amenities. It has a total capacity of 5006 people which can include up to 3660 guests and 1346 crew members. This makes it the second largest cruise ship in the Princess fleet after the SUN Princess which is currently the largest and newest Princess cruise ship.

What made this cruise sailing so special was the Good Food Show At Sea theme and Princess brought in many celebrity chefs to do cooking demonstrations and had many experiences for foodies as well.

This is the first time Princess Cruises hosted the Good Food Show At Sea and in my opinion it was a success. The ship was completely sold out sailing at 100% capacity and there was so much demand to watch the live cooking demonstrations so it was difficult to even get a seat. Some of the famous chefs they brought in were John Torode who is a co-host and judge of BBC’s MasterChef along with his wife Lisa Faulkner who is also a celebrity chef. They also had Rachel Allen the famous Irish Chef, Gennaro Contaldo the Italian Chef and many more. I think Princess did a great job with this, since there were so many cooking demonstrations and culinary events which made the Sea Days less boring

This is my balcony room on the SKY Princess There is a large closet here with hangers. Theres many shelves. There is a lockbox with a code. This is the restroom and this is pretty standard size for a cruise. You get 2 cleanings per day. And this is my stateroom with 2 separate beds which could be put together. On the left there is a vanity/workstation, on the right there is a fridge. And there is a beautiful outside to the balcony with seats as well.

Then show all the different areas of the ship including the pools, restaurants, Piazza, bars, gym, spa etc.

Now, lets talk about the some of the PROS and CONS of the SKY Princess

Lets’ begin with the CONS:
FULL SHIP – The SKY Princess was a super packed and full ship operating at 100% capacity.
NO INDOOR Pool-There was no enclosed indoor pool, so swimming wasn’t an option on many of the cold days.
STABILIZERS – The stabalizers didn’t work as well as the Sun Princes and I could feel the cruise rocking most days.
SLOW INTERNET – The Internet speed on cruise ships is usually super slow and for this cruise it was approximately 3 megabits per second

PROS
-LARGE & MODERN SHIP – The SKY Princess is the 2nd largest Princess cruise ship so if you like sailing on large and modern ships, this is a great option.
-AMAZING SERVICE – The Service is amazing and super friendly from almost all of the staff on Princess cruises. I think Princess does an amazing job hiring and training their staff to exceed guest expectations and provides incredibly friendly and professional service.
-SUPER CLEAN – The ship is squeaky clean and the maintenance staff does a great job.
-FOOD – The food on this cruise was great and better than most other cruise lines I’ve been on. I’ve been around 10 different Princess Cruises and this cruise probably had the best quality food I’ve tasted. I’m not sure if it’s because they were hosting the Good Food Show at Sea but the food was really good on this cruise.

Overall, I would rate the SKY Princess cruise along with the Good Food Show At Sea a solid 8.5 out of 10 and even higher if it’s not at full capacity.

I hope Princess and other cruise lines continue to offer special cruises like this with a Food Theme or other interesting themes to offer guests more options and activies to keep them busy, having fun and learning, especially on sea days.
