The WORST PGA players at hitting greens from 150-175 yards sit around 55-60%. That is for tour players. If you're 150 on the fairway you should not expect yourself to hit the green every single time. It is not an easy shot to make.

Why don't you club up, so you don't land short of the green? It never hurts to try an 8 iron. I'm no golf expert. Just a suggestion.
