For my ranged only playthrough I had an army that consisted exclusively of Vlandian crossbowmen, Battanian Fians and Khan Guards. Those Vlandian crossbowmen absolutely carried my playthrough, their amazing shields and decent one-handed weapon skill came in handy when fighting against the Vlandians and Khuzait's cavalry

All I would do for my army was fians and those raider guys with the throwable javelins and swords.

you really drop you wrongly upgrade troops😂. just press the circular arrow at the bottom (middle) 😂😂😂
Range troops do better in 2 or more groups. 1 in the far left and 1 in the far right flank. f1 + f4 will have the troops engage and they will automatically kite the enemy, resulting in the enemy group not being able to decide which group to go after and constantly turn their backs to your range troops.
If villagers and caravans want to stop getting raided than they should stop being so damn profitable
You need to put your crossbows in loose formation. Doing so will allow them to all fire at the same time when the enemy is in range.

The most annoying thing of this entire video is watching you sell things. The top of the shop has tabs for food, clothes, weapons, mounts, etc. The double arrow >> sells EVERYTHING in the current tab. Just like it recruits ALL things, if you want ALL things. You take ALL of the prisoners, but you sell one by one by one?

Actually, imperial crossbowmans are better than vlandian simply because of the fact that imperial crossbowman often (23 chance if im not mistaken) carries mace. So yes, while they worse in terms of range encounters in comparisson to vlandians, in melee they are as effective as battanian fians (while being tier 5 unit instead of 6). And, you can recruit them much easier

resonant your making my brain hurt. please watch a video essay on bannerlord tactics. its outrageous how you think that your archers have no range on the enemy when they are shooting uphill in 4-5 rows. even in loose, only 2-3 rows is effective, unless the enemy are close or at an angle.
Can you not revert a upgrade by using the middle reset button?

The sharpshooters do more dps, but imperials have more armor and better weapons and shields
Blasphemy no range unit is better then the Battanian fian champion.!
With the crossbows. The shield wall command should have the front line put up their shields so the others can fire over and past.
The shields were designed for just that

Why don't you lock your horses and food and just hit the sell all button?
If you click the wrong upgrade button on the troop, you can use the the reset button at the bottom to reset everything you did on that screen instead of killing the unit (between cancel and done. at 15:35 in the video)

Personally I always play the "no Retreat/Surrender" style taking every battle presented. I don't know about the rest of you gentlemen er pardon Noble Lords first started the game and you reached for that button to retreat from a battle. How did that go for you? You got some screen to pop up say retreat at bottom and just nothing after that so rather then waste time you just say "skip it" on what appears like a broken feature. Yea, you could bother to ask others and seek advice, but then you lose the thrill of what others experienced in their real lives in such situations. You can feel that at no cost or harm to yourself in a video game. This puts the focus on your choice decisions in the battle and its not just everyone running everywhere doing who knows what. The only thing you need be concerned about in game is random black knights waiting in the woods for a duel only to tell you "its a flesh wound"
