  1. My only complaint about the game is the sword and shield combos. I loved mhworld sword and shield, specifically the combo where you stab the monster and jump off into a roll. The new s&s seems like he just kind of swings and strafes

  2. my biggest issue with the wilds beta was the inability to completely disable the radial menu, I'm old school, I just hold L1 and use square and circle, and like being able to keep using my camera while doing so, and even with everything taken off the radial menu in the beta, you still couldn't use the camera while changing items the old way

    also, as much as I love monster hunter, and am hyped for wilds, it being more anticipated than gta 6 is the funniest thing I ever heard๐Ÿคฃ

  3. oof, here i thought i sucked too hard and i was the only one where rey dau after 2 min of action flees. I felt like i wasn't supposed to fight rey dau and he wanted to be left alone…๐Ÿ˜… Also I don't like doshaguma's design it's too realistic, it feels like an animal i could see every day in the zoo.๐Ÿ˜‚ All other monsters are fine! The weather i actually didn't pay that much attention to, i was just having fun. I didn't however like the fact i had to wait for bad weather so my rey dau would spawn. Ok it's lore accurate, but still it's downtime where i just relaxed and ate a snack or watched some yt in the meantime. I like the fact that there are multiple of the same monster spawning. Giving it a more real feel that these creatures exist. Also it makes me wonder how an arkveld would be presented in the world, is it truly the only one left…, cause if they want realism killing it should end it all and IF there suddenly are more Arkveld, how do they spawn in the world?๐Ÿค”

  4. I felt the hit stop thing. It's not a "GAME UNPLAYABLE" type of situation for me, BUT, I would like it back. As a GS enthusiast, there's nothing more satisfying than landing that HUGE TCS, u feel the impact, the weight of your weapon slamming down.

    Hopefully it can be a option we could toggle? If such a thing is even possible

  5. Itโ€™s hilarious that the โ€œinsect Glaive does no damageโ€ joke is relevant here because the air combos were never your biggest dps lol. Ground combos were, always. So Wilds puts emphasis on that and oh no suddenly everyone is mad! Smh..geez people

  6. In terms of Monster Design, I will say that Rey Dau's actual appearance was a bit disappointing compared to the initial tease, in that it was less monster-y more traditional-ish design. Not in terms of character ofcourse, gameplay as well as cinematic clips make him an absolute badass monster, but in terms of base design I'd say I like Dosha-Chata-Bala more…. and even Quematrice. The same applies to my impressions of Lala as well, on a closer look she isn't AS crazy as it initially seemed, and seemed quite a bit smaller in that livestream showed to us in TGS.

  7. On the topic of the monster designs, I feel like a lot of people probably have some issues with some of them because they don't look convincingly like they could possibly be real. This kind of lends into the "alien" critique, which makes sense in a series that is usually as visually grounded as M.H. Like, Rompo just straight up looks like an alien – probably because it looks like an over-sized bug, but it's clearly not a bug with how obvious the Brute structure is on it. And something like Bala as well, with it having the mouth that just doesn't track for a vertebrate creature at all.

    I love the weird designs, but then I still have complaints with some of them. Like, why does Dosha exist? It's just a bear. We already have just a bear. Dosha doesn't do anything special, and is ugly as sin, for no discernible reason. Like, why is its face melting off its skull? That's not an adaptation that would aid in anything it does. What's with those giant lumps on its head? They're not prominent enough to be used for ramming. It just looks like it's losing chromosomes by the generation, and there is no apparent reason why. Some of the other monsters are a but ugly, but they're at least ugly for a reason. Bala has a weird twisty body and a mouth with three giant circular jaws, but that's to look like industrial mining equipment.

    The fire monkey is also super boring. It's literally just a spiky monkey with fire. There's nothing creative about it at all. It doesn't even read as monkey visually. It just looks like some random enemy you'd see in any run-of-the-mill R.P.G. Kind of just looks like they disassembled Odogaron and then reassembled it in a different configuration, and Odo didn't really have much going on design-wise other than looking skinned.

    Chatacabra is kind of just a frog with fists. Though, it gets a bit more of a pass since none of the prior M.H. frogs have punched, or used their tongues. Plus, it's the starter monster, so it can get away with being really simple.

    Quematrice is a bit odd, since it's a Brute that accesses its fire power by scraping its long tail along the ground. So… It's just a smaller chicken Glavenus. Plus, we always get fire bird monsters early game. Kut-Ku, Quru, Akno. Why can't this one scrape for electricity or something? We don't have electric bird in main-line yet, nor electric Brute. This one is a bit better by being Brute instead of just Bird, but it's still pretty heavily bird-like.

    Rey is in a bit of a weird place, since it's pretty neat, but, also, every time I look at it, all I see is Astalos and Shaggy Maggy fusion. If they would've given more design weight on the rail horns and changed the body texture or colors, it probably could be divorced from it a lot more, but I guess we'll see. Maybe the Sub-species will break free from those connections.

    Arkveld is in a similar boat. Pretty cool. But, kind of just seem like they mixed that one ice king Gore thing that I think was from Explore with those wing-whip things from Frontier.

    Wilds has some of the best designs in the series (Lala, Black Flame), but also some questionable ones (Quema, Chata), and some real stinkers (Dosha, the fire monkey that's so generic that I can't even remember the name).

  8. I actually like the lauch attacks. Playing GS and then someone sudenly lauches you up in the air, so you have ro react quickly if you want to use the oportunity for a mount attack. And since flinch free is a thing i dont think they need to revome it to everybody

  9. I think IG charges fast enough that you shouldn't really need to charge while attacking, and Focus is just going to reduce that charge time even more. The biggest problem is controlling the camera while attacking in focus mode. That was ultimately got me to switch to mouse+keyboard, since I don't like how it feels using paddles to attack.

    I still loved the weapon on my normal DualSense on the PS5, though. I will admit that mouse+keyboard is the best way to play the game, though.

  10. You know what would be a really bad MH take? Giving a shit what Asmongold thinks about it, and making a bunch of fangirl content over that greasy unwashed incel and his dumbass opinions. so if he ever does get into wilds, we're ignoring him and letting his ass hunt alone.

  11. These days people will complain if something simple like lipsync being slightly off mid fight while youโ€™re swinging around running for your life. Stuff you shouldnt even care about is what people choose to whine about and its pitiful and just downright sad.

  12. I personally HATE Rey Dau. I wear headphones when playing games, and his constant metallic screeching gave me a constant headache and made it very difficult to focus on the fight while wincing from my ears. ๐Ÿ˜ข Nothing he did was fun to me. I like the design, but he was an absolutely terrible fight.

    Just my opinion, lol.

It would make sense and could be an easy alteration for the final game to actually make the dynamic healthbar (I'm talking about the way it reacts when a monster is about to do a big attack) a toggleable option in the settings menu. That way, the people who hate it can turn it off, and the people who like it or don't mind it can leave it active. Just like how the Palico speech is a toggleable option.

  14. The only real problem i experienced with the demo is that ultimately the meta didn't shift or fixed itself at all.

    Even if you made every weapon do more damage, longsword is still getting buffs after buffs after buffs.
    You just upped the number on screen, nothing really changed on pure damage. And that's bad imho.
    I want every weapon have the slightest difference in dps, because that would actually make the game fun for everyone and not just for long sword and charge blade.
