You better believe that Orichalcum Ore and Ironhide will go from 0.01 to 1.00 once they release a new zone with new stuff to farm and those old ones get neglected. So yes it is very smart to store it up on unfrequented storage units up north or random towns you don't visit often. I've been thinking of doing it but this reminded me to go do it now. Future speculation is awesome. Might take weeks if not months to play out though. Remember, it did happy to wyrdwood and ironwood, now well above 0.50 when it used to be 0.01

Selling refined mats for slightly below "market value" of the unrefined components is only a loss if the unrefined components will sell at that higher value. Other than your time (which granted, does have a value), you've not paid anything for those resources. You DO pay crafting fees, if it is something you can't do for free at your camp. Y'all DID upgrade your camp, right?
Having a good supply of the basic materials banked is good if the market suddenly goes hot and you can jump on it quickly. Also it's a hedge against potential inflation. Like (IRL) having a few extra cans of food you bought last year, and the price to buy that same food now is 40% higher. Having a good supply of (now) less valued resources, that you can either use yourself or sell at any time, helps you be more agile when the market changes or sources get nerfed.
The thing really messing with me is how the trade post isn't accurately reflecting sold orders. I haven't seen anyone speaking to this issue.

Unless you want the gathering levels, don't farm. Rather than farming, you can just do math and make profit while controlling the refined materials market. Late at night when supply is low, you can usually control the raw materials market too. Works well on my near-dead server. 10k+ gold per day.
Buy orders are also amazing on low pop servers. Since the buy/sell spread is so large, you can make huge profit from buy orders. It is easier to maintain your position at the top of the buy order list on low pop servers.
I feel like this only works in low pop server lol…when i try to farm anytging theres actuslly nothing everything is been collected even fast spawnning stuff like hemps there be like 5 to 8 people around collecting everything

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you didn't mean you got all 91 orders the last day or so. If so that'd CAP if you played for 3 hours. 20k of oil by itself would take up half that time even if no one was there for hours

Correction. You absolutely want buy orders on a low pop server. I can regularly obtain matts at 60% of their sell rate on a low pop. Pro tip, take a house in a place where you don't process and use it as your warehouse.
Well i see people are asking about Raw Hide i dont know if this is good number, but i do farm around 7k rawhide in around 30mins atm rawhide is 0.14c on my server. Keep in mind i play on Midgard which is high pop server in EU.
I dont even know if 7k rawhide in 30mins is even good, but thats how much i collect and i put it on TP. I do that once a day.
I see people farming rawhide in Cutlass but there is a lot of people there farming it , my spot is never intruded im always solo doing it. And i do farm bounch of other stuff on side like : Starmetal ore, Gold ore, Iron ore, silver ore, all kinds of motes.
