Ford is the latest carmaker to seek deep cost savings while facing timid demand for electric vehicles and rising competition. 2,900 jobs will be lost in Germany. The production site in Saarlouis Germany will be closed in 2025. There is a mismatch clean energy regulations and consumer demand. More flexibility on car emissions is needed urgently.
