A 33-year-old man died after getting hit on Country Club Drive just north of the US 60. Because of the previous concerns, and the recent death, Mesa police say they’re stepping up enforcement.

Reporters need to read and learn the law they attempted to report on!! Crossing the street isnt jay walking. The example spot and people you showed werent jay walking either. 🙄 notice the side streets, and no cross walks? Makes it a legal crossing.
They will do anything but make the street safer. People are crossing there because it takes an outrageous amount of time to walk to the dedicated traffic light. The traffic engineers have blood on their hands and these reporters are failing to report all sides of the issue. It's unsafe by design.
It's all about the money! They don't want to spend money on a pedestrian walk light, and the can collect on fines. That accident was tragic though. The man driving the car looked traumatized. I hope he is healing well 🙏
Yeah, the police also need to patrol 40th St. and Greenway up to Cave Creek and Greenway in the last month. I’ve almost hit three people jaywalking unacceptable.
Ever try to drive from University Dr. And Mill to University Dr. And Rual? Once 2 in the morning I had a girl come out between 2 parked cars in dark clothes on a bike. I stopped BARELY in time. It was so close it shakes me up thinking about it.

Put up a warning sign that says if a vehicle doesn't get you the the Mesa police will! (cause we all know how violent they cant be)
