Bless you! That was my mom ❤❤ she had two feral kitties with her 20 yrs Melinda and Cheesy. And Morris were staples with us. And Spooky our crooked beak black cat. Cheesy remained like creekside very skiddish but mom was her person she loved her. Eventually she raised 3 generations of kittens. Spook got hit by a car while away at cancer treatment and it destroyed her 😢 we never lost one of her babes like them at. She passed few months later. All the kitties eventually left. Singing on to one of the grands she had from for Bella. Rikku. She was always standoffish and shy and losing my mom was hard on her. but toward the end of she was so affectionate. Lost her at 13.5 yrs old. Then the next year 20204 I lost our baby Tidus who we had Seinfeld he was 6 weeks old and. Almost 15 yrs with that amazing boy. I vowed no more fur babes for a while. Just can’t take the heart ache anymore
In terrible shape herself but still a ferociously protective & diligent Mother.💛

Why do people insist that feral cats are not adoptable I took in 30 stray and feral cats over the 20 years now. They resided in my home. They are just shy and harm no one.they only come out from hiding to eat. 20 have passed on over the years
But out of the 10 cats that are left I still have 5 feral cats. One lets me pet him the other 4 still do not but that's okay because as long as they're out of the cold they have a safe warm home they can live the rest of their life safely and comfortably ❤❤❤
No Cat should be Feral they don’t do well on their own

Thank you for keeping her even if she won’t be able to be adopted out. I take care of strays around my house and I’m hoping to get a couple of the feral ones comfortable enough with people where they could possibly become adopted to be mousers/barn cats.

Went thru the same w/7 newborns & feral mom! All got great homes & ‘moma’ is a much loved super mouser at a small horse farm.
She was unable to be a house kitty, too.
But was much worse than this beauty!
I got her fixed up for free at a Vet that helps TnR kitties.
Told them I had a barn lined up. It was the only time I was able to pet her…after she was ‘out’. Even then, she managed to growl. 😂

What a good mom, so protective of her babies. I bet her only having one good eye contributes to her not warming up (yet). She had to be twice as vigilant to protect herself and her babies. Glad this gorgeous girl will be able to relax now
I had this same situation. Caught her babies first and thankfully she came back and got in the kennel to get her kittens. I kept her in a bathroom with her for babies and she raised them. She was too feral to keep so she went to a home that would let her live on a porch and gave her food and water but she was also allowed to come and go as she pleased. She was giving a good health check and spayed. Her babies all found homes.

I think of my boy as feral adjacent. He has Very Firm Boundaries and will not tolerate any touch or proximity unless he actively asks. 😂 He's my baby anyway. He's come a long way with food insecurity and trust.
I think my cat Leo had a feral mom. His brother Jack most likely had the feral gene since he ran off while still a kitten . However, Leo is more domesticated so he stayed w/me.💕

She's got that there tortie energy, and she's clearly been through a lot, so understandable she's stand-offish. Don't worry, she might be a surprise yet, even if it takes years! Torties are special like that. (AKA insane)
Our feral treasure was named Daisy and she and her boys stayed with us over twenty years…we really miss her (a wild flower needed a name like Daisy)
