  1. @longislandaudit. I got detained for simply recording. They tried to take my phone from me. When I withheld my phone they threw me on my face and handcuffed me. Before they threw me in the back of their vehicle they tightened the cuffs even tighter causing my hand to go completely numb. I know they violated my rights. I am requesting body cam footage and gonna file a complaint. Any advice on case law and what kind of attorneys to use?

  7. Big fail.Papers served to the person or people directly. You don't know if they receive them.Unless they don't show up in court. Be waiting for follow up to find if they indeed got their papers served.

  36. I would have used a certified process server myself.. I did some research and "YES" you need to be a licensed process server in New York State to serve legal documents. You may have created a legal loophole- they'll now use to delay the process. Just keep an eye on them.

  39. Anyone over the age of eighteen years old can serve the Summons and Complaints. But you must get the name and position of the person who accepted the Summons and Complaint. Then the person who served the Summons and Complaints has to submit an affidavit of service to the Clerk of the Court.
