  1. You are so wrong these kids to say carry guns carjack people because they know they won't a long sentence do your research these kids today have no problem shooting or killing some one during a robbery!!!!

  2. Agree to disagree on this one whistle boy. Most of these teens are not first timers just being thrown to the wolves. And you picking new york and California as examples even though they have the worst crime rates just kind of let you know how their policies don't really work on crime.

  3. The US is the only country in the developed world that sends 13 and 14 year olds to life without parole on a daily basis.

They are then raped on a daily basis without a single guard or inmate charged.

The US system is by far the worst in the world.

  4. Yes yes, very sad. We both made it to adulthood without the big house Simon. In the home of the free and land of the brave we have a highly successful organization with a office in every city that has an amazing record for youth reform, called the Marine Corps.
Everyone has the same chance not to victimize people, they made the wrong choice.
Your liberal tears will not unvictimize them.

  5. Children learn from their surroundings. If they are surrounded by gangs, drugs and violence, that is what they learn. I have no idea what to do with a 12 year old that murders someone, but some of the blame must go to the environment they are living in.

  6. It's trying to cross that line between making sure the suspects aren't allowed to just get away with causing crimes as there has to be a deterrent but at the same time putting them in a place where everyone is basically a much better criminal so all they learn is how to be better criminals isn't exactly a great system either. Certain crimes like rape or murder though should always have an adult sentence. I have an 8 year old and I like to think even at 8 he knows murder is wrong.

  7. Lyrics from Prison Song by System of a Down:

"All research and successful drug policy shows that treatment should be increased!

    Oh!

And law enforcement decreased while abolishing mandatory minimum sentences!

    Oh!

All research and successful drug policy shows that treatment should be increased!

    Oh!

And law enforcement decreased while abolishing mandatory minimum sentences!

Utilizing drugs to pay for secret wars around the world. Drugs are now your global policy, now you police the globe!"

  8. Someone that I love was incarerated at 16 and was definitely not a "super predator." I fucking hate how politicians play their stupid fucking games and the American people have to pay the price.

  9. I really dislike how this video disregards the crimes that those teenagers have committed.

I understand that some may be able to rehabilitate, but if you commit a murder at 16, I think you should get a severe punishment regardless.

  10. The only part of the racial thing I disagree with being a problem is “over policing” in poor areas, poor areas have more crime and so they need more police, people view this as a bad thing but as someone not from a good place who never got more police than everywhere else it cost a lot of lives because people knew they could keep doing stabbings and muggings and drugs without an increased risk of getting caught

  11. In my state of Queensland, the state government changed the youth justice laws so that it positively encouraged criminal behaviour. Breach of bail was no longer an offence so that the “children” just repeatedly broke the law and literally laughed at the media cameras outside court. The government said “jail must be an absolute last resort”. These little thugs then went on a rampage around the state. Car theft and home invasion shot up by huge amounts. Cops were frustrated that they would catch the young criminals only to see soft judges happily let them free, often to reoffend on the SAME DAY.
The public had enough, and now has voted in a party that ran on a platform of “adult crime adult time”.
We don’t care about the little turds. They prey on law abiding citizens? They deserve everything they get. We literally have zero empathy for them.
Don’t want to go to jail?
    STOP BREAKING THE LAW!!!

  12. Had to stop watching this after 3 or 4 minutes…. As soon as you start throwing in phrases like systemic racism into the equation. These numbers can be manipulated very easily ask anybody who has taken a basic statistics class so the numbers can be very misleading and show an unfair bias. I am educated in this field not just my personal opinion here. But my concern is a lot of these kids that get tried as an adult are encourageable and their parents don't know what to do with them or their parents are missing from the equation most likely missing father and this contributes to behavioral and control issues a lot of time society just doesn't know what to do with these people. In an ideal world early to mid teenagers should not end up in a general population adult prison but in a program that does not look like a lockdown institution with plenty of therapists and psychiatrists. Simon I love your videos for the most part but you got to ditch the liberal left-leading talking points

  13. Wow I always assumed that they will be held in juvenial facilities until they are 18 and then transfert to adut ones.
Americans are crazy. Their justice system really doesn't care for people.

  14. Explain why you felt the need to try ale this about racism.

Statistically, a young male of African descent is more likely to have multiple charges, hence why the harsher sentence, they have done worse crimes.

The US is not racist in the slightest on a mass level. You are mongering and causing unnecessary division

  15. Simon im shocked by this writer i love your content but you writer here cant get basic facts correct even on simple things like "rikers island being a notorious prison '' its a jail that is a huge distraction not even mentioned. Another huge in accuracy is that black people are far more likely to end up incarcerated than whites for comitting crime yet it is never mentioned that blacks make up 13% of the population yet comit 60% of the violent crime but only make up 32% of the prisson population as opposed to 48% of the population being white comit 17% of the violent crim but make up 30% of the prisson population so how is it that the prison make up is almost identical 32% black and 30% white yet the population make up is 13% black and 48% white you are far far more like as a white person to ho to prison if you commit a crime yes there are more black people in prison per capita but they commit more crime and lieing about that fact or blaming almost non-existent racism will not help solve the real problem of crime it will stop thoes who want to work on a solution from coming to the table and focus yhem on a fake racist person instead it is a classic Marxist tactic make the people worrie about a ficticious problem while making the real one worse to destroy society till a majority of people favor socialism or enough for a violent revolution. Do better simon you live in a post Communist country ask your inlaws about how the Communist did this where you live.

  16. Still going to go with if the government doesn't say you're an adult till 18 you shouldn't be charged as an adult if you're under 18. And then Nebraska for some reason 19 because of draft dodging in the world war II and Vietnam era

  17. Or maybe they just commit more crime. 3:25. Why does it all ways have to be racism. Why can't it be just the fact that a certain percentage of the black and Mexican juveniles are committing more crime than white juveniles. Facts are facts they're not racist
