At 10:15pm on April 10, 1942, a blinding flash erupted on the horizon in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Moments later, a thunderous boom rolls across the water. Stunned silence grips the shore as a ship burns offshore. Confusion turns to terror as muzzle flashes erupt between the beach and the inferno.

Gotta love the CIA controlled Wikipedia to spread misinformation. No, he didn't die in that bunker. On to the subject. For 2 years the U boat wolf packs caused havoc on the east coast. The American admiral would not send armed escorts because he dispised the British and they suggested it. Most of the sailors on these unarmed merchant ships where sent to sail against there will.
