  1. “This is how they train their soldiers?”

“No, sir. This is how they train their young.” The aide swiped some new video footage to the screen.” Clips of humans stepping out of airlocks into the void, without tethers. Other humans jumping from atmospheric craft into air so thin, the ship likely could fly no higher, without more thrust. One video even showed some kind of military installation. Well kept, and organized. There seemed to be a targeting reticle , as well as various numbers in low contrast colors along the side. A loud explosion was heard, and several seconds later, the highest ranking person in the encampment simply fell over.

“That was a single human… SNI-PER. She was nearly 5 standard units from the target, and spend over six Earth rotations WALKING to that inhospitable location, just because it had an unobstructed view of the enemy encampment.”

“Now, let’s’ talk about CERE.” He inhales slowly… in earlier videos, you saw human children, with the proper protective equipment, and watched over by adults to prevent serious harm. Nonetheless, by the time they reach adulthood, they are well acclimated to these potentially lethal environments. If one of these children joins their warrior caste… I can only refer to it as torture. They go to similar, or LESS hospitable environments, this time without protective gear.”

The display shows a brightly lit, but sparsely filled area. The ambient temperature there is at or above fatal temperatures for at least half of the council members present. There is a metal box there, very much out of place. Colored black. A lid at the top is opened, an$ a human man stumbles out. Much of his dermis is dry and cracked. Clearly a black box in Earth’s sunlight would be hotter than the ambient.

“Humans don’t just train the skills they need to perform their roles. They train themselves to endure pain. Or even for pain to inspire them”

  2. This would be so cool if I were like, 14.
"Beings with inconceivable intellect and technology that we couldn't possibly conceive that can control matter and are capable of FTL travel are terrified of cavemen with advanced slingshots and chunks of metal strapped to themselves."
Don't break your arms jacking yourselves off, nerds. Or "Zalvax the Gronkrhorian" is gonna get ya! 😆
