Sparatlys islands, etc. are the backyard of the Philippines especially the Bajo de Masinloc. Only a few miles away from the Philippines, it is inside our EEZ or exclusive economic zone, and many many miles away from China. Philippines never claimed what's not ours, we are just defending the territories we rightfully owned..
